I hear ya! All I want for Christmas is some motivation to learn this absurd amount of material. I just started L-9 in Becker and when I start reviewing all 9 lectures in a few days, it will be like starting over because it has been SO long and SO much to remember. My brain has just about reached a saturation point.
I am going to look at the AICPA questions, just as reinforcement.

I agree with Patrick. For BEC I went over both the 2008 and 2009 AICPA released questions, if nothing else, to boost my confidence, that if I had taken the exam a year or two ago I would have been able to handle these questions. Also, I don't think the actual exam questions are much different than the released ones, at least on the exam that I got. I spent maybe a couple of hours, and in my opinion it was worth it.

Hi guys -- I am using Becker's 2010 version to prepare for FAR. I've noticed several people comment that they used more than one set of preparation material to prepare for FAR...using the second company's materials as supplemental, etc. Does any one know what might be a good company to use as supplemental material?

If you're going to get a supplement - there's no better CRAM product out there than the Yaeger CRAM + Wiley book. People are using it and passing. There is also the live cram filming for 2010 January 9-10. You can watch that for 1/2 the price of the regular cram if it works for your schedule.

Ok, so I failed FAR & have sucked it up and am ready to knock this out in this next window. Taking REG on 1/16/10. I'm planning on retaking FAR the last week of February. Does anyone have any tips for restudying the material? Obviously, my study plan didn't work if I studied over 115 hours for that exam & failed by 2 points. Any tips or ideas?
Oh & Jeff, thanks so much for everything that you do. I did not find this website until this Fall, but I am amazed by the support from this website - people emailing their notes, posting words of encouragement, etc. It is very refreshing after the competitiveness that I experience at work to know that there are people who actually want to see others succeed. So thank you for providing all of us with this positive environment!

Havetopass- I think it's not all about studying but how you budget your time during the exam. I didn't think I did that great on MCs or Sims but I didn't leave anything out. Research, memos I tried to do everything. I had 10 seconds left when i was done with exam. I passed with an 80. So I think besides review try to see how much time it takes you to do everything...

I need your advice on which part to take first FAR (took oct26 - got result yesterday 71) or REG (never attempted but have a NTS expiring March). I have 2009 FAR Becker Text - they are saying that it will be good for the first quarter i.e. till Feb2010. If I take FAR, I'm losing on NTS for REG and also my becker classes for REG are in JAN2010 (which I'm going to attend regardless).
If I take FAR after the first quarter - I already have Becker promise it will only cost me $255 for new text and stuff which will be equal to losing a NTS for REG - no additional cost.

Hi everyone! Okay, I'm really stuck here...I have taken FAR 3 times and, for me, it's another 72. Here's the thing...I've used Becker and Gleim. I was averaging a 98% on the Becker and a 92% on the Gleim. Now my software is going to be out of date and I have to pass FAR - my last part - before February 10 or I lose AUD...Jeff, do you recommend that I order the full Yaeger course? Or, should I just do the cram???? Please help! At this point, I really don't know what else I can do...I don't know what else I can study. Your input is greatly appreciated!

Maan - how hard did you study for FAR? 60% 80% 110%?
cpatx - Yes - you need the full HomeStudy...even after back to back 74s on REG - I still used the HomeStudy...i wasn't a "cram" away from passing...I had holes in my preparation.
Additionally - I welcome you to try Club 75 free for a week...there are several people in Club 75 in your exact sames shoes trying to work things out and rebound from a failed section...

Jeff ! I put in 100%...but I messed up the exam on simulations..improper time management..I think I did great on MCQ's as my score 71 is mainly of MCQ's - I only did the research tab on both sim and one communication tab and one regular question tab on sim...

A 71 indicates that you messed up on more than the sims...I've bombed sims before and still passed.
If you gave 100% - you either need to figure out how to better use your course or you need a new course.
Exam failure is usually due to lack of preparation or not "clicking" with your study material.
Only you know which one it is...you can try again with your course or go a different route...only you know what is best.
Just calling it like I see it...
