FAR Expired – Anyone with advise?

Unfortunately due to medical complications my FAR exam expired (got an extension but still couldn’t study and I can’t get another extension). I passed it on my first attempt but it was over 22 months ago. I swore I would only take FAR one time and one time only but obviously that is not the case. I will not quit until I have CPA at the end of my name.

I can grasp the material pretty easily but just want some advise form people who have retaken CPA tests, especially the BEAST. Luckily my friend lent me his 2014 Becker Material and I still have my typed notes and got updated Ninja Material free since I purchased it before. Any advise for a study plan. I want to conquer this beast again in 2 months. I will have about 5 hrs a day to study (weekends longer).

Should I view all the lectures and retake my notes or go straight to questions? I am have fortunate enough to have passed the rest of the exams on one try so this is kind of an odd situation for me. Also any motivational advice would really help or past experiences would really help me out.

This is my first post so be nice. Thanks you ninjas.

Having not been in your position, take my advice with a grain of salt. It's been two years, I would, at a minimum, go back re-read your notes. It's a lot of material and a lot of time has passed. I think reading the notes before diving in will at least help you to determine what is stil really familiar and what you need to brush up on. Good luck!

What state are you and how did you get an extension?

I'll re-do everything that made me pass the first time.

You knew what worked for you that made you pass it on first try.

Do that same things again and even more. In this exam, there is never an overkill but there is an “under kill”-:)

I think you should treat the exam as if you hadn't taken it already. 22 months is a long time, this is definately not a “refresher”. 2 months at 5 hours a day is plenty of time, you'll be fine.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

It was a long process to get an extension. Basically I had to send in medical documents including hospital stays, recovery period, doctor signatures, etc.) It has to be very legitimate as it seemed they were very strict. Thank you all!
