Should I know how to prepare a financial statement for Governmental and NFP or just know the names of their respected statements? I feel I could not put together one like I could for Cash Flows. Any help on this subject?

A financial statement would not show up for governmental, however I would memorize what types of transactions happen in the different types of funds. I have seen a sim for government, so be prepared.

Look for your clues…

i.e. expenditures = governmental funds, expenses = proprietary funds

@gettingmycpa Thanks for the help! Yes I know the encumbrances and expenditures and all that go with Govt and then the full accrual with the proprietary and fiduciary. I would just be upset if I had to fill out and calculate a statement 🙁 But thanks for the heads up!

I got a super duper hard gov sim and its not just a theory question. Also a NPO sim, not that hard but still. They were all numerical questions. So you might wanna study hard for gov and npo. They're tested heavily. But if you know them well, you'll breeze through them as if they aren't asked in the exam! Good luck!

Ok I am fairly comfortable with the simple JEs associated with them…or so I think. I am just concerned with having to prepare a F/S.
