    NINJA Question –

    Hey fellow and feline NINJAs:

I’m eight weeks out from FAR and trending 50s in NINJA MCQ. Not in adaptive learning phase yet. Someone please tell me this is [relatively] normal. So far, I’m aiming for:

    Workday MCQs: 30-50/day

    Weekend MCQs: 90-100/day

What were you guys trending after passing the initial phase of NINJA MCQ and heading into the adaptive phase? Aiming for a benchmark before/after adaptive learning phase will help me gauge my progress.

My anxiety is clearly seeking some serious affirmation.

    :scared:

    Onward we go!

im in the same boat. dont expect to have great mcq scores until the end. think of every wrong question as a question you wont get wrong during the test

I'm in the same boat, getting same scores. Same thing happened when I did BEC, just stick with it.

I can't comment on FAR, but I am 300 questions into REG and have a 71% trending and 65% average. I don't really understand this whole scoring thing.

What exactly is the adaptive learning phase?

    Bec-76 (7/14)
    Aud-81 (8/14)
    Reg-82 (7/15)
    Far- 82 (10/15)

Moral of the story, don't do your CPA while working in Big 4 Public Accounting.

I started out around 50-60% around 8 weeks ago as well. It's probably overkill but I've been doing 30 problems at a time (150-200/day) and I'm now at over 7,500 Ninja MCQ questions done (not including going through CPAExcel twice). Obviously I've done the same problems over and over but I'm now at 75% average and trending 78%. The small rules and details are killers. I don't recommend being in my position this close to exam day…should be trending close to 85%. I take it on Saturday. Good luck to all!!

@gtg179i…if I were you, I'd be trying to push 200 MCQs/day on the weekends. 100 is barely what you get on the actual test. So 100 in actual test-time is only 2 hrs. You should be pushing yourself more.

Helpful, all. Thanks. @ijustwant76, I hear you. FAR's a very challenging topic for me. I can blast out 200MCQ/day for certain sections, can't quite to hit that target for this one. Working for it, though.

@UM1868 – You will hit the adaptive phase once you answer each question once. The adaptive phase targets your weak areas and hits you harder on those. Once you've answered each question correctly, you'll hit the review phase.

I believe that Jeff recommends your trending score be 85% or higher going into exam day, if that helps anyone.

    I'm going to throw up.

FAR is just under 3 weeks away and I'm trending 59%.

I just want to break the goddamn 60s. Even on the real exam. Just let me please please please break the 60s.

Haven't rewritten my notes yet. “My notes,” – they're such a chaotic mess. I guess I'll rewrite the NINJA notes and just copy my incorrect answer responses until I'm blue in the face but I seriously want to throw up.

I know I'll pass… eventually. Right now, though, I just want to run face first into a brick wall (because it sure feels like that already!).

@gtg can you push the exam out to October?

    REG - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    AUD - Passed
FAR - Passed!!!! I have my life back.

@Someday I can, but I won't. FAR is my mental nemesis and if I push it off I will just sit around in fear. I'm going to do the best I can on 8/26.

I have enough days remaining to make a dent into trending the 60s. That will give me encouragement enough. I can always retake in early November.

In other news, it's encouraging to see me trending *something* higher than the 40s range!

[What is it with FAR? I've passed the other three sections but FAR has sufficiently made me feel like an incompetent human.]

Granted, I'm not repeating any questions in the NINJA MCQ (except the Govt section since I've already done all those, and want to keep the questions drilled), so… that may be impacting my trending score, but unknowingly how much.

After rewriting the notes I'll switch it up from selecting “New questions.” Keep your fingers crossed for me!

    Hey gtg!

I'm throwing up right there next to you!

My 5th retake for FAR is 8/26, and I am trending 57% on Ninja. Guess I've forgotten more than I thought I had. I was hoping to get in the 80s, but now I'd be happy with the 70s. We are so close – we CAN do this!!

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 80
    REG - 80
    3 years

    + 16 tests

    + 2 expired sections

    = DONE FOREVER!

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...

    Hello everyone!!

Ok… First time on this site and I need a pray!!! I'm taking the FAR aug 27th and can't believe that my life has been taking over my this mess! I'm a little behind and lots of questions!!! Who's down!!

Actually, you move into the adaptive section when you've seen approximately 35% of the questions, so if you look at your progress report, take the total questions and multiply by 35% and that's how many unique questions you have to attempt before your in the adaptive phase.

I think the review phase is when you've answered each question correctly 1 time.

That said, it's adaptive learning the whole time. So even in the assessment phase or when you're picking and choosing what sections to answer questions from, the program is still learning where your weaknesses are to the extent it can (i.e. if you allows customize your sessions and never let it pull questions from one of the subsections it obviously can't judge your weaknesses there, but it will still be judging your weaknesses in the areas you are working in).

    Does that make sense?

Also, I almost never break 70% before about 2 weeks before my exam.

@silvercamero77 – I'm taking FAR, first time for any exam, in 6 days and am feeling extremely behind. Trending in mid-70's but haven't hit review phase. Not doing well on SIMS either.

At what point did you take the practice exam in NINJA?

I'm scheduled to be off work Thursday and Friday to study for test on Monday, what do you think is best use of those last few days. Panic is setting in now!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
