FAR– Not trusting myself/ not trusting Becker

So far I’ve used Becker for three sections– REG, BEC, and FAR. I passed both REG and BEC my first try with Becker. I’m taking FAR on Tuesday (1st try with Becker, 2nd try overall), so we’ll see how that goes.

Although I did pretty horribly on the homework along the way (typically below 40% on my first try), I just did a progress test over all 10 chapters and got a 73. That is way better than I was expecting to do, and is actually in the neighborhood of how I was doing for BEC in the last few days before I took it.

Despite that, I have this mental block that Becker has not prepared me well enough, that I haven’t studied hard enough, and that FAR is this giant beast just waiting to kill me. Right now I’m going over the progress test and writing down why I got all of my wrong answers wrong. Maybe that’ll help it stick better. I remember feeling this way with BEC too– that I was unprepared and that there was no way I’d be able to pass.

For those of you who have passed FAR, how were you doing in progress tests in your final days of studying before the test? Did you feel that you were well prepared? How do you learn to trust yourself or trust Becker?

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

    Ethics- 93

I was wondering the same thing as I am taking FAR in 9 days for the second time. I rushed to take it the first time on the last day of the quarter and didn't feel prepared enough. I feel much more prepared now, as I'm averaging mid 80s, sometimes mid 90s on 30 question progress tests in Becker. I am supplementing with Wiley because I feel too familiar with the Becker questions, and I'm only scoring mid to high 70s on Wiley. I hope this is enough – does anyone know how they were scoring in Wiley and how it turned out for them?

I would also like to know what others were averaging on progress tests.

I am still worried about the SIMS, not the MCs so much. Just seems impossible to fully prepare for the craziness of the SIMS.

    BEC - 80
    AUD - 85
    FAR - 76
    REG - 75

lol. It is much more likely the second item than the other two.

Becker is great. It is your job to prepare yourself by using the resources that Becker provides.

Per your title, trust in Becker, don't stress yourself out, and just focus on your studying.

    REG - Passed!!
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

I don't remember the progress test scores specifically, but I do remember getting in the 70's on the final exams, which I took just a day or two prior to my exam. Wasn't sure if that was good enough at the time because it was my first exam to take, but evidently it was sufficient. I definitely didn't feel as prepared as I wanted to be, but I'm not sure anyone does. I only used Becker and happened to read over the NINJA Notes a couple days before my exam. I am sure you'll do fine if you can just relax and give it your best shot. Good luck!

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)
