Doubt this will be extremely helpful or something you havent tried, but I usually try to figure out which section the question is referring to such as revenues, expenses, assets, etc. or even subsections of that. Then I try to pick out key/distinguishing words from the question and use the search within function. Seems to work pretty well for me when I have used although I have only used it in Becker review.

Anyway, good luck on your upcoming exam. Im taking mine the 22nd :/

If the actual exam's research question was as hard as the ones in Becker's sims I would literally allot 1 minute to it. But, as I've read, they are much, much harder on the actual exam.

FAR is the only section I've had any trouble with the research question on the test with, I don't know what it is.

Goodluck @cpanoob22 bet you'll knock it out the ball park. Damn research sounds like free points but I guess it's not lmao. It seems so time consuming.

Best tip for research is don't waste time on the multiple choice. Solve the ones you know and MOVE ON if you don't know one. This is something people struggle with. They get to reseach with 3 minutes left and they're toast. I'd try and get to the Sims with at least 2 hours left, especially on FAR.

Just be familiar of how researching works. Look for keywords in the question like “revenue recognition definition”, “franchise fees” etc.

I always try to knock them out first. I spend about 1-2 minutes on quicker ones and maybe 3-5 minutes on tougher ones. Don't spend a lot of time on it.

Utilize the search within function using keywords. You're bound to come close to the right answer every time.

Are there partial points? CPAExcel review gives 0% even if one number on the end is wrong – say 330-10-05-1 instead of 330-10-05-2. But I guess that one paragraph off makes it wrong – ha….
