FAR Review…anxiety increasing

    Hi all,

I am down to the last bit here in my FAR journey. I am hoping to only make this journey once. I am using the Becker self-study and have ~2 weeks until my exam day. I started the review process yesterday by doing solely comprehensive progress tests, including all of the material, 30 questions, 45 min per test (I tried to mimic the real exam as best I could).

My first one I did really well: 80%

    My second one….: 55%

    My third one….: 71%

I am tracking where my problem areas seems to be. The worst part is…I’m inconsistent with my right/wrong answers. On the first exam, I had 4 questions from F2 and got 100% correct. The second exam I had 3 questions from F2 and literally got all of them wrong.

Does anyone have any advice for me during my review stage? I already watched all of the lectures, did the SIMs one time through and did ~90% of the required MCQs. I was in a not-so-test-friendly atmosphere when taking my mock-testlets (my usual coffee hangout, but it was bombarded by a loud and cackling group of knitters). Plus my stress levels were high for mock-testlets….I’m going to be a wreck on exam day :/

Your scores are so inconsistent that I don't think I can advise you on a course of action. Blame the bad score on the knitters?

    FAR- 82
    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

You are smarter, more focused, and more brilliant than you give yourself credit for. Believe in yourself and truly know in your heart that you can do it.

I think you need to stop doing practice tests and focus on mcq's in study mode. You didn't learn a thing when you did that and your scores are low at times. That signifies that there is a significant deficiency in a topic or topics.

The reason I worked on setting up progress tests to mimic exams is because of timing. I wanted to give myself a realistic setup on how I do in a timed environment.

    FAR - 76! 10/15; (65) 7/15
    BEC - 82! 11/15; (74) 8/15
    AUD - 01/16

You should definitely consider NINJA MCQ as a supplement for your review. It's nice to get feedback immediately on why you missed a question and there are new questions that you won't see on Becker.

I always avoided those mimic exams because the scores would always psych me out. TAKE A DEEP BREATHE. The more nervous you are, the worst you'll probably do. Since you found a problem area, review that area more. Most people learn by doing MCQs and I highly would recommend you continue to do as many MCQs as you can. Make sure you haven't already memorize the correct answer and can actually work out the right answer.

I would jump and buy Ninja MCQs to spice up my review, but I have not even exhausted the optional MCQs from Becker yet. My only concern with the MCQ-methodology is I hear that Becker's questions are harder than the true test. With type of test-taker I am, I will be so used to doing the complex problems and make the real test problems 20x more complicated than they really are.
