    Hey All-

I just failed FAR with a 66…I felt very well comfortable with the MC’s, but I new I did not do well on the SIMS…can anyone offer advice for tackling this area? In particular, the ones I’ve struggled with in practice involve the journal entries…with the Becker book I’ve noticed the J/E’s they show don’t “connect” to me right away, and I feel like I’m memorizing more than understanding, and that’s not going so well haha…are there quick references or tool that you have used to help to remember how to keep it straight? Or any other SIMS help?? Thanks!

Don't just read them through and try to memorize them because that IS mind-numbing….take a step back and look at it broader and more conceptually. What is this journal entry doing, what is its purpose? I know that seems like a very simple, basic piece of advice but it was crucial for me in mastering the SIMS and passing FAR after a rough first attempt. Understanding how or why a particular account is debited or credited will make you much more likely to recall it during a test, and to adapt to any curveballs they might throw your way.

    BEC - 69, 70, 82 - DONE
    FAR - 59, 77 - DONE
    REG - 53, 70, 85 - DONE
    AUD - 66, 68, 70, 85 - DONE
