FAR – Sims

I’m using CPAExcel and Wiley FAR test bank. Some of these huge simulations take me at least 5 min to read and understand what the hell the problem is asking me to do. The next 10 or 15 minutes (if i know what im doing) are spent answering the damn problem.

Now that I was able to bitch a little, question; is it possible that 6 of the SIMS (i think the 7th is research) will be these huge problems with about 20 fields to input or are the mindful of the time it takes and do they mix in the quicker SIMS?

    FAR:  68, 75 (Lost Credit), 69 because f*uck me, right? 77

    REG:  71, 79

    BEC:  73, 75

    AUD: 69, 70, 72, 74, 74, 69, 75

    FAR: 66, 75
    AUD: 67, 69, 70, 74, 74
    REG: 71, 79
    BEC: 73

my policy with these exams has been to not spend too much time on the sims. I have just been eating up MCQs. It has worked for me so far; however, if I fail FAR on the 29th (first try for it), on my re-take I will certainly practice more sims.

My research was impossible…took me a few days after the test to finally find the answer. I had one sim that I have no idea what the heck it was asking me to do…then followed with a 8×10 cube of fill in the blanks. I couldn't use the AL on that one because it wasn't the question that was confusing, it was how they wanted the answer that was confusing. I filled it in as best as I could, making sure to put zeros to fill in the blanks. The others were pretty straight forward and not too terrible. I'm thinking that awful sim was a pretest since I did okay on the exam.

I gave myself 2 hours for the SIMS. I used up almost all of that time and I had some complicated questions and some not so complicated questions. Also, use the AL as much as you can – it helps!

My approach with all SIMS (for REG, FAR and AUD) section was to get as much partial credit as possible. If you are stuck with a section, don't waste your time, trying to figure out every single thing in the section, nor should you give up on a section. Worst case scenario, do the best you can and get as much partial credit as possible.

    FAR - 86
    REG - 85
    BEC - 90
    AUD - 84
