Has anyone retaken an exam for FAR and seen almost identical simulations/topics when they have retaken it?

I haven't retaken FAR, but yes for REG. One in particular stood out and the original take was 6 months prior. I don't know if that means it certainly is a throw away or what.

I don't know how anyone can remember sims from 6 months earlier. I usually struggle to remember sims within minutes of walking out the door…

I retook FAR today. I don't remember the sims from my last take off the top of my head, but I took notes on their subject matter immediately after my test take, and according to my notes, the sims I had today were completely different–no overlap whatsoever.

Normally I would agree about not being able to remember from 6 months earlier, however, it actually is something from the ninja audio that made me remember it. All the sims could have been the same for all I knew, but one in particular was something that the first go around, ninja audio popped in my head, and the second go around, when I saw it, same thing popped in my head from the ninja audio. I also did not take any tests between (tax season). That is all I can share though of why/how I remember it.

I'm headed into FAR without really haven't practiced many sims, am I doomed?

I didn't practice sims for REG and AUD and did okay.

I have just been doing MCQ religiously and going over any topics I get wrong. (for example, if I answer a question incorrectly on Interest Capitalization, I go through my materials and re-read the interest capitalization portion and the associated entries).

Yes, when I took it yesterday, I saw a SIM that was either the exact same, or nearly the same SIM from when I took FAR last in October.

RogerCPA is good but you might want to add on the NinjaMCQs to get more practice with the questions. With Roger you'll do a lot of repeat stuff and Ninja has only the slightest overlap
