FAR simulations – losses – positive or negative?

If I’m taking a simulation in FAR and it asks for a loss number, for example:

    Gain [ text field ]

    Loss [ text field ]

Note: No parentheses are around the loss, the above are just boxes next to the text.

and I calculate a loss for the transaction in question, gain will be 0 but what do I put for the loss? Should I put the number without a minus sign? Or with a minus sign?

I’m worried I’ll blow this by putting a minus sign when I’m not supposed to or forgetting to put one in if I’m supposed to.

Wiley test bank online seems to think it should be a positive integer.

Losses are debits, so if that's the context, then a positive number would be right.

    BEC 52, 61, 74, 77
    AUD 80
    REG 75
    FAR 50, 60, 70, 74, 83...DONE!!

I found that same problem in the practice q's, but the exam specifies what to use.

    AUD - 89
    REG - 79
    FAR - 82
    BEC - 84

Yeah, the exam will specify “if the number is a loss, use a negative number.” or whatever.
