    Jspann225,

I would get the Ninja MC since you might remember some of Becker mc as you do them over and over, and even if you think you donā€™t remember the answer, your brain might point you in the right direction. A set of new questions you have never seen before will help you see the same material approached differently. The real exam is tricky as hell, so seen questions from all angles will definitely help.

    Hiya!

Joining everyone for a fun ride on the FAR train šŸ™‚

August 19th is the date I chose – the day before my DD starts 5th grade, and a Great day according to my friend's astrological calendar. I figure I can use all the help I can get.

10 weeks to go and just starting Roger. I took AUD (my very first) and passed with an 88! I'm afraid I got a little cocky and haven't started studying yet for FAR. I don't want to underestimate this beast and already my eyes are glazing over with bonds and time/value of money. I forgot that these were not my best areas. Time to knuckle down and truly understand them.

I believe what helped me pass AUD was to learn it as though I was going to teach it. This time, I'm going to learn it as though I'm the investor and want to make a ton of money on my investment return, so therefore I will need to understand precisely what story the financials are telling me. We'll see if that strategy helps.

Buckle your seat belts and hold on! Good luck and best wishes to us all,

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 80
    REG - 80
    3 years

    + 16 tests

    + 2 expired sections

    = DONE FOREVER!

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...

@CPA50 don't worry about time value of money and bonds, that was my weak area and i passed the MC of that on Gleim with 85% lol. So i KNOW anyone can do it. Harder concepts WILL click to you because it all goes into the present value/fair value which you will revisit over and over gain. You'll find it's very basic foundation information. You can't properly put together a Balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement etc unless you know what amount to list for securities, income from leases etc. If i partly have a chance at all this stuff, i know anyone does. Non current liabilities and PV of money used to give me anxiety.

@Jspann22 i recommend the ninja MC. I was skeptical at first but the format will be so refreshing. It's so simple, no fuss, and i think is a better indicator if you know core concepts. I was scared because lets face it, Jeff & Ninja is new to the CPA study materials world. But every question is backed up with AICPA literature, which i think people get scared of but it's a simply go-to rule book. Gleim, becker, etc questions get so filled with excess information, it's easy for you to memorize them by unique factors in the question that have nothing to do with a concept. Like if a question is mentioning about a fire, and flood all on the same day as miscellaneous info, it's easy to memorize.

I just did SIMs for NFP, & Non governmental, scored an 82.5%! How? Because you can use the research tab when doing sims, lol PLEASE Do not forget this during test day. Do not become scared of the authoritative literature, it is your friend.

Retaking FAR again šŸ™ Incorporating WTB this time and might even buy the NINJA MCQ (heard some great things). I really hope I can pass this go round so I can move on. FAR is truly a beast with the amount of information you need to know. I going to try to focus on my weak areas the most but still go through all the chapters in my Gleim book.

Hope to set a test date tonight for early July.

    Second round of FAR…lets goo!!!

Thanks @Gian and @nicole2035. I just purchased the multiple choice questions, and worked a few. I can honestly see how it is beneficial to see the question written a different way.

    FAR - 93 - 7/1/14
    AUD - 94 - 7/25/14
    REG - 92 - 8/30/14

Having a really hard time with the OE section of the Wiley TB questions, only scoring around 40% the first try, it is really hard to remember everything! T-stock and all of those rules/formulas

Anybody have any good ways to remember IFRS GAAP differences while going through becker material? I am thinking of typing up all of the differences that are in the appendix at the end of each chapter, but I think that may be overkill. Anyone have any insights or tips on which ones are commonly tested? Thanks

    BEC- 92 (5/29)
    FAR- 85 (7/3)
    REG- (8/8)
    AUD- (8/22)
