    Have NEVER heard of that stuff in my life! What is this and omg, is anyone else studying this stuff?

    Question for the group. I have only used Becker materials. so should I purchase just the FAR MCQs from Wiley? There seems to be a tons of questions which are probably new to me. But I do not want to have conflicting information between Becker and Wiley.

    My retake strategy is to go thru all HW questions in f1-f10 and do flash cards each day and then during the final week just a lot of f MCQs and sims. I missed the last exam by 3 pts. I hope I can get the same momentum and confidence I had. I just started to study again on Monday skimming the book writing down each JE, and reading chapter online and my own notes from my first attempt. The. I do 25-30 MCQs. Trying to do one section per day.

    Hopefully this round is the last for me!

    The Pfeiffer Corporation reports net income in the current year of $800,000. Pfeiffer had a nonconvertible preferred stock paying $70,000 in cash dividends. Another $2.00 per share in dividends was paid to the common stockholders. There are 190,000 shares of this common stock outstanding throughout the year. In addition, the company has 20,000 stock options outstanding. For $2, each option can be converted into one share of common stock. The average price of the stock during the year was $8. The company has an effective tax income rate of 20 percent. What is Pfeiffer's diluted earnings per share (rounded)?

    A $3.48

    B $3.56

    C $3.68

    D $3.76

    I just went over the DEPS section last night so i'm not exactly perfect at this but this is what I think it is

    (800,000 NI – 70,000 PS Div)/190,000 CS + (20,000 – (20,000*2/8)

    730,000/190000+15000

    DEPS = 3.56

    you wouldn't subtract the dividends paid to common stocks because those belong to common stock holders.

    FAR: 78*, 75
    REG: 76*, 85
    BEC: 79*, 76
    AUD: 79*, 93

    All scores expired, let's try this again.

    FAR - 78*
    AUD - 66, 79
    REG - 73, 76
    BEC - 79

    @Delta_Diva_

    For this problem you would have to subtract preferred dividends from net income

    800,000 – 70,000 = 730,000

    Then, calculate how many shares the company could buy back if all of the options were converted

    20,000 * $2 = $40,000

    $40,000/$8 = 5,000

    The company can repurchase 5,000 options on the open market, so there will be an additional 15,000 shares on the market because of the option being exercised.

    730,000/(190000+15,000)=$3.56

    FAR - 93 - 7/1/14
    AUD - 94 - 7/25/14
    REG - 92 - 8/30/14
    BEC - 89 - 10/6/14

    Never dealt with that, nor have I seen them on the test.

    I assuming it is comparable to a disposal fee.

    @BStewie1987 I haven't either but it's concerning because my last exams I used the 2012 Roger books and did not pass.

    I think you are stressing out too much over something that is highly unlikely to be tested. Focus more on the major concepts of Governmental accounting.
