Hi. I have my FAR exam scheduled for May 29th. I need help figuring out how to study most effectively.

I am using Roger for lectures and so far go through 11 out of 31 chapters. I did Roger homework for the first 4 chapters, but then stopped because it was taking too much time. So I tried to get through the lectures and notes taking first and then do all MCQ and Sims (Roger and WTB).

But now, at chapter 11, I feel that I am forgeting privous chapters without doing the MCQ.

I have limited time I can study, usually about 1.5 hrs 2-3 mornings a week and 1.5-2 hours 2-3 evenings a week, plus few hours on Sat and Sun.

How do you suggest I maximize my study time and when do you think I should start hitting MCQ?

I am starting to feel very frustrated with lack of progress.

    Working at it

I hear you. I'm experiencing the same thing myself, since there is just so much material for FAR.

Something I'm doing so that I can keep reviewing the other material while I'm going through the chapters is listening to NINJA Audio. I do a few repeats of an audio section that pertains to what I'm reading about right then, but mostly I just keep listening to it in sequence, which helps keep me fresh on the previous material. Anytime I'm driving, I've got the NINJA Audio going.

But I think the most effective studying is going to be done closer to my test, when I can start cramming my short term memory full of stuff.

I'm using semi-NINJA method, going through all of the chapters first (I don't have lecture videos, except free YouTube ones) and doing just a few MCQs of each topic along the way. Once I'm done with that, then I'll start hitting the MCQs. I'll review and make notes as needed during that portion of my studying.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

@star_invention Is there NO way you can add in more study time? I understand life, but 30 mins on lunch break or reading a PDF for 30 mins during work hours or listening to audio driving 10 min to work or staying up an extra 20 mins every night to do flashcards. Weekends you should be able to get in 5 hours a day (wake up an hour earlier, find an hour here or there throughout the day). Rearranging your schedule is the worst, but it must be done.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

If that's the only amount of time you have to study, I would push your test further out. FAR is the hardest section and my test is scheduled for May 26th and I've been studying nearly 8 hours per day on the weekdays plus 5-6 hours each day on the weekend and I'm halfway through. You have to find time to not only get through the material but to also go back and review prior material, i.e. doing progress tests, rewriting notes, etc. FAR is just a really time intensive subject that requires a lot of time studying.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

I am also taking Far on the 29th of May and don't feel even close to being prepared! I am using Beckers review and having a hard time following the lectures.

Are you almost done with all the material? When/how do you plan on doing your review of all the sections before the exam?
