    Anyone here have FAR Wiley? About how long do you study each module? And, how much time do you spend answering the MCQs and SIMs? Looking forward to your answers. Thank you.

    I have the Wiley book and the test bank. I spent too long going over each module in the beginning. I was reading the entire chapter, taking notes, and answering all the questions in the book. It would take me a week to get through a module, which didn't leave enough weeks for review. So I started going through the Ninja Notes and the Becker outline Notes and working on the WTB, adding the notes from the questions to my Ninja Notes. Because the WTB has the textbook feature, you could go through the MCQ slowly and take notes from there versus reading the book. That way you are only taking notes on the concepts you don't know right off the bat. I haven't taken the test yet, but this is my method for my remaining 3 weeks of study. Quiz, read the textbook link if needed, and take notes if needed, then quiz some more. My goal is to get through every MCQ and SIM in the test bank at least 2 times and then go through any that I've gotten wrong at least 2 more times. I will also go through ALL the AICPA release questions from 2006-2013 before the exam.

    I would suggest taking 1-3hrs to read the chapter to make notes, 1-3hrs to work MCQs until you have moved through all modules. Then allocate your time based upon how you score. I think the key is not to weigh yourself down early in the process of what you dont understand. You should note what you struggle with and then gear your study plan around that.

    I'll agree with what Wanna b said. Don't get too weighed down with reviewing materials for each module. Get through the material in a timely pace, and then go back to spend time in areas that you're weaker in. It's easy to get weighed down by some of the more involved sections of FAR.

    You'll get a fairly good idea of what areas you should concentrate your studies after you've gone through each of the modules.

    I just started my FAR studying this week, so I have no idea how this will work out, but I wrote out my 8 week study plan. (My test is in 8 weeks, and I work full-time.) This week I'm doing module 9, then next week I'm doing the next 3 modules– that's based on the page length of each module. I'm not going to do all of the book MCQ when I first tackle the module, though– I'll save several to do in my review weeks that are built into the plan.

    My plan is at home, and I'm at work, so I don't remember all of it. But I'll be reviewing these first 4 modules after a couple of weeks according to the plan.

    I'm being much more organized this time than I was for AUD. I had a really haphazard study method for that one. We'll see how this works.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
    FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

    Ahhh the question I had asked a few days ago and man the advice helped me. I am using CPAExcel which is the same as Wiley and man when felt like I was taking forever to read and work the MQ's at the end of the module and then take notes and then the Wiley TB. I was getting burnt pretty fast because the book as so much material. In wiley there is 5 sections for the financial reporting so it makes it worse. My approach is to just read through the whole module and do not get worried about what I know or don't know (I used to research topics I felt I did not know and watched youtube videos…very time consuming). I realized the Wiley TB gives very good explanations to why something is correct or wrong and I recommend reading it even if you have it right. The kicker for me is using Ninja Audio which is a good way to just have the info drilled into your head. Ninja audio is really really good so is this site for support. Also I do make flashcards on a site called Quizlet and add the multiple choice questions on Wiley on it. It is a extra bonus for me.

    Everybody has their own style. Definitely agree with the rest on here, going through reading the entire book is just not an effective use of your time, but I spend a little more time with the book than some. I am going through the modules answering the questions in the back, taking notes of the sub topics that give me issues, but only really reading and absorbing the sections that need major work. It's more time up front than just going straight to the bank, but I like to have a solid outline of my weaknesses (not just the modules, but the sections or topics within the modules) and for me it feels like just going through the WTB may leave some holes. Also not really a fan of going through the MCQs more than once, I think time is better spent focusing on the topics that give you issues/NINJA notes/NINJA audio/SIMS, etc. I'm hoping to have most of two weeks for review, but plan to spend only about half of it on MCQs.

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?

    I have just finished reading the Module 9, just like what you all have suggested. Oh my, I thought I'll never get out of that module ever(definitely not a good first impression).So, thank you so much for all your valuable inputs! I agree having Wiley alone is truly overwhelming and being dormant for 10 years, I think it's time to switch gears a little bit while it's not too late. I have purchased the Ninja notes and I still have subscription through cpareviewforfree, so I will be doing their MCQ's and the Wiley's as well. And yes, I will be targeting my weak points as I go along until I get it through.. Thank you all again!

    @after30cpa

    I see you're using cpareviewforfree. Are you using their points to pass program were you get unlimited MCQs with different questions and answers? It sounded interesting and a good concept I just haven't heard of anyone using it. Thx
