I took it again today and I have already found a bunch I missed because I talked myself out of the right answer. So frustrating. I knew most of the topics covered. I’m just worried about the missed opportunities on those MCQs and not completing a SIM all the way. The government questions seemed a lot harder this time. I do not want to fail this again. Now the wait begins. Fitting day to take this crazy test.

    I took FAR today too..

I didn't find the MCQ too challenging (only flagged like 3 in the first testlet) and then the 2nd testlet was definitely easier, only flagged 2, NOT a good sign!

But the SIMS. ugh, the SIMS! they were so ambiguous. I didn't feel like they gave me enough information, or left a lot of it open for interpretation.

I still hate how they could potentially give you a governmental SIM and/or a SIM about IFRS but not provide the guidance like they provide the codification for GAAP.

I wonder if they ever get audited. Especially when we are told governmental should be 10-12% of the exam but then it seems like everything is governmental.

I am just mad at taking too long to answer and second guessing myself. I'm not a good test taker.

@jm962011 I feel like I got the same test with regard to the ambiguous SIMS and not enough instruction on a few of them. I felt like it could have gone either way with my exam and thankfully I passed so sending positive thoughts for you and G@torCPA.

Hello Megn, I am using CPAExcel and Wiley test bank for FAR just like you did. Do you have any tips for me? So far I have gone through all the questions in both, at least once. I am about to just keep doing random MCQ and hopefully read through notes again next week, then do more random MCQ (concentrating on my weak areas), before I take the test on the 25th.

Any advice will be appreciated! 🙂

@kemi22 – I printed out full exams in CPAExcel by doing the following:

    1-Start an exam.

2-Just exit out of each testlet like you are working the testlet, but don't answer any questions.

3-Exit out of all sections including the SIMs.

    4-End exam.

    5-Get Results (0% of course).

    6-Open each testlet, CNTRL+A, CNTL+C, CNTRL+V into Microsoft Word.

7-Voila…you have the entire exam with answers. Study away…

I also used CPAreviewforfree along with WTB and CPAExcel, and the questions gave me a different perspective. I didn't use Ninja MCQs back then but I like Ninja MCQs for BEC and REG.

Thanks much for the post, LastChanceCPA.

I hate doing the MCQ in CPAExcel because you have to finish all before you can review why you got what right or wrong. SO your post will definitely help. I'll try it.

    thanks!

Lucky you, almost done! 🙂 Good luck with REG!

I was once at the point where I had only FAR left. Now I have all 4 left. lol. I will change my signature to something similar to yours someday … 🙂
