More ways to track study progress and helping to make and meet study goals. Not every chapter/section is equal as far as difficulty and study time. So saying “I'll do a chapter/section a day/week” is a fools game.

Also, in the books maybe include an easily accessible list/chart of mnemonics/formulas/key facts for each section. Another helpful feature might be to insert boxes/notes at advantageous moments in the chapter highlighting common mistakes and exceptions. I would liken it to the “Observation” notations in RIA Checkpoint research tools.

Wiley is pretty good as far as taking temperature on test scores. Anything that helps the review course integrate with Wiley would be a plus.

I like everything about the Wiley 2013 QBank except that you cannot reset it if you need to retake an exam. I understand that they probably do that so you cannot pass it to someone else and it be as beneficial for the other person, but it is still annoying when I paid for it and can't use it the way I need to to retake an exam.

The benefits of the Kaplan software is that they have a huge T/F database which is great for really learning the concepts in a shortened version if the book is too wordy for a particul section/concept. Another benefit of Kaplan is that their SIMS seem to be more in line with the actual exam and Wiley SIMS are proving to be too easy for FAR and not comparable to what I'll probably encounter on the exam.

I agree with BlueGirl–any list of neumonics/JEs/Formulas would be helpful. I always create my own lists, but that just takes away valuable study time hunting down all of the examples to add to my list when a provided one would save so much time.

Here are a few of my favorites:

1) Java sucks, please do not use it.

2) Practice questions should allow the candidate to choose MCQ's by section; questions not seen yet, seen X number of times, and answered incorrectly X number of times.

3) Progress report should show 2 different #'s: 1 for % of homework completed, and 1 for cumulative % of your pactice session scores.

4)Since the calculator with Wiley sucks balls, it would be nice if it linked to the 10 Key on your keyboard instead of using the mouse, or fix the calculator that way I do not have to click the mouse multiple times for the # to pop up in the calculator. Even the CPA exam calculator works like a pro for me.

5) Allow the option to wipe the section clean of sessions. Like a clean slate for people who do not pass, and need to restudy everything. Every question needs to be reset to “NOT SEEN YET”

– I think it would be nice for the MCQ answer to provide the required Journal Entry if applicable, (at least with FAR). The MCQs in Becker and WTB do a good job of provided different scenarios but most of the time if you what the JEs that equate to that transaction you have to think it up yourself (and you could have it wrong).

If I don't get to review my answers, as in review each single one, I may get up from the table without confirmation that it is incorrect. Absent evidence to the contrary, my bias will be to stick with my original solution. Getting instant feedback prevents all of this.
