Feb Exam Date- Good or Bad?

My last exam, AUD, is set for Feb 6th, a Saturday and it will also be my first tax busy season at Big 4. International Tax, if that will make any difference?

Because it is my last exam, I am itching to pass it and get rid of it, but I am also worried that the chaos of busy season will overwhelm me. I plan on getting the basics for AUD down in December and review 1-2hrs per day during January. To me, this makes sense and after reading Jeff’s ELL plan, I think I can do it. But since I’ve never gone through busy season, is it possible? Esp with this game plan in mind?

I think plenty of people on here will tell you how they passed exams during busy season. When I started as an auditor I was warned to not try it, and I did anyway, and I was so over it that ended up giving up the exams altogether for a few years. My senior passed BEC and FAR during busy season- he was promised a trip to Cancun by his girlfriend if he did. It really depends on the individual.

I studied for AUD during busy season for audit and took the exam November 21st, so I don't know if I passed yet or not 🙂

The biggest challenge is making yourself study after working for 12+ hours during the day, but it's definitely possible. My piece of advice, find a coffee shop on your way home from the client or work and stop there to get your studying in. I found that the moment I walked in the door at home, I would mentally check out for the day. It was always really hard for me to start back up studying after I got home.. but if I went some where on the way home, I was able to keep my self going until I actually went home. I just brought a pre-dinner snack to munch on until I was ready to head home for the day.

    AUD - 11/21/2015
    BEC - Jan 2015
    FAR - April 2015

Please don't wait…..I agree with iswang, you may end up prolonging this unnecessarily. Work with your work schedule, put in the study time and get it over with. You'll do fine tax season. Believe me we do what we want to do. If you want to finish….then finish. I stalled because it was busy season ( self-employed) and I put it off for a whole year waiting for a convenient time ,then of course I had to wait for money. So don't wait, get it done.
