    Hi guys, I just took my Far exam on 1st of April. I used Becker and scored 71 and 76 on my Becker Final exams. On my actual exam, I feel all the testlets are about the same difficulty level and I can tell that I got a lot of them wrong… However, I left myself 1hour and 45 mins for SIM and I am very confident about sims. I ended up with 30 more minutes to spare so I reviewed my sims carefully.

    My experience with Becker is similar to my real exam experience, I also did better on Sims than my MCQ and I always score 70%to 80% on MCQ.. Do I still have a chance to pass if I did terrible on MCQ but great on sims?

    I had the exact same experience. On my third FAR testlet, I was just shaking my head thinking it didn't matter because I felt I bombed the first two testlets, but I kept treading. Then came the sims, I felt I got maybe 2 or 3 of them right, but the rest were a crapshoot. I knew for a fact that I bombed at least 1 sim.

    At the end of the day, I ended up with a 79. I scored comparable & strong on most of the MC except for financial accounts (I scored weaker) and sims I scored stronger. I underestimated by performance on MC, because I put more focus on the questions I guessed on rather than the questions I got correct. Also, it's always hard to gauge MC performance due to pre-test questions (which can be up towards a whopping 20% if your exam).

    I actually averaged a 70% on becker's final exam too. All is not lost! Wishing you the best.

    Thank you Club300! Does the score report show how many MCQ you got right? I really hope I can pass Far on my first try, I studied really hard and I have planed the other 3 exams in the coming month too, I don't want failing FAR influence my plan for the other 3 exams.

    I fell like I got over 30% of my MCQ wrong but I am pretty confident that I got the over 90% of the SIMs correct. I have been pretty good with journal entries and calculations but not so good with remembering the details like the differences between IFRS and GAAP or what to disclose…

    Well that sounds exactly like my experience with audit and I got a 95. Missing 30% of the multiple choice isn't bad- especially if they got harder. And they may have gotten harder even if you couldn't tell. I think you have a good chance- good luck!

    @fangruoyi

    My report doesn't show how many MC I missed, but it does say that I scored “Comprable” for MC and “Stronger” for Sims.

    You may feel that you bombed the MC, but up to 20% could be pre-test, so that means up to18 or so questions didn't even count. And If you feel that you did good on sims, I think you're in a good spot.

    It's a bell curve. If you thought they were hard everyone else did too. Same goes for easy tests.
