Feeling decent after taking AUD? Passing chance?

    Hello fellow ninjas:

I just took AUD this Monday (4/18), and my experience with it was much better than FAR. I took FAR back in February and i seriously had suicidal thoughts walking out of the prometric center. However, little did I know, I ended up passing with an 88. For AUD, I did NOT get that devastating/depressing feeling. Rather, I felt fairly decent. I did not notice a change in difficulty until my third testlet where the wording of the questions got more tricky. The sims were fairly straightforward, I had one where I was literally pulling word-for-word answers from the AL.

Over and all, had anyone feel semi-decent after AUD and still end up passing? All these talks about the-more-horrible-you-feel-the-higher-chances-you’ll-pass got me nervous now. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    FAR (2/5/'16): 88 (Becker & Ninja MCQs)
    AUD (4/18/'16): 93 (Becker + Ninja notes)
    REG (06/09/'16): 83 (Becker + Ninja notes)
BEC (07/08/'16): Please let me pass this one.

@Certified Party Accountant That sounds almost identical to my experience! I swore up and down that I failed FAR to the point that I immediately started re-studying (mainly to make myself feel better lol) but got a pleasant surprise a week after taking it : ) However, I felt pretty decent about AUD. I was able to find a few sims using the AL and felt like the MCQs maybe got a little more vague/tricky in the second or third testlets. Best of luck to you – feeling decent about it could just mean that you knew the material well!

    AUD - 97
    FAR - 75
    REG - 84
    BEC - 78

    AUD - 10/3/2015 97
    FAR - 11/30/2015 75
    REG - 4/24/2016 84
    BEC - Waiting and hoping - 8/23 score release : )

OP, congrats on taking AUD. I hope you weren't being serious about suicidal thoughts after FAR – nothing is worth that. Back to your question – I recall having a similar experience after I took AUD. For the other 3, I felt confident I had passed (FAR less so), but AUD played with my head. Even after checking my SIMS, I finished with an hour and 40 minutes remaining. I think what played with my head is it seemed deceptively easy, like I had missed something because I went through the test too quickly. I also thought the SIMS weren't difficult per se, but they were worded so strangely that I knew if my interpretation was off, my answers would be completely wrong. I was also able to use the AL for most of my SIMS, which helped give me confidence I was on the right track. I think perceived difficulty is a function too of how prepared you were. Some may think a testlet is easier or harder depending on how hard they studied particular topics. Good luck!

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

Every time that I've felt awful about an exam, I've ended up passing (with the exception of BEC).
I swore I had failed FAR/REG or I just did not feel great about it, but ended up passing.

The one time I felt decent was when I first took AUD. I wasn't stressing much at all, I even checked my score later in the day, instead first thing in the morning. Ended up getting my worst score (a 63). I retook the exam and again, I felt okay about it. Not as confident the first time, but still felt like I should pass. I ended up getting a 74 lol. Hoping third time's the charm. I feel like it's possible that I passed, but with my other 2 experiences, I just feel terrified and I honestly don't know how to feel about it.

It's just so hard with these exams, you never know how to feel. I feel like the people grading these exams flip a coin to see if you pass or fail and then once they flip the coin, they pick a random number 1-99. Just my 2 cents lol.

But good luck to you and I hope you and all the other ninjas pass this quarter!

    FAR - 71, 78 (Becker Self-Study)
    AUD - 63, 74, 90 (Becker Self-Study + Ninja MCQ)
    REG - 75 (Becker Self-Study + Ninja MCQ)
    BEC - 80 (Becker Self-Study)

I felt pretty good this week on AUD and that is what is scaring me. I did not notice a significant change in the MCQ like I did with FAR. Anybody else feel that the MCQ was relatively constant among the testlets?

I definitely feel that I did well on the SIMS, is it hard to pass if you do decent on MCQ medium testlets and nail the SIMS?

Reviewed a few of the recently released questions and that had me even more concerned as I did not recall very many questions with those type of tricks. Tough to actually recall the MCQ difficulty at this point, I wasn't really paying attention to it in the test, just answering the questions..

Good luck to the rest of you, I'm going to go ahead and start BEC for an early June go..

    FAR: 80 Feb-16
    AUD: 81 April-16
    BEC: 81 June-16
    REG: Sept-16

The wisdom around here was , if you felt like you failed then you passed.

Based on everything you said, I give you a 71.53% chance of passing.

Just received my score – 93. Looks like I've wasted my energies playing the “score guessing game based on my feeling.” I am seriously starting to believe that the CPA was created to play with your emotions. Anyway, good luck to those who's going through this journey!
