    A little background on me:

    1. graduated 08 with an accounting degree (never took aud, tax 2, cost accounting 2, and got a D in FAR 3)

    2. Started working as a financial analyst in the industry in 2008 after graduation (currently employed at same company).

    3. Received an MBA in 2011. An ACTUAL MBA, not this online crap.

    4. Made the painful decision to start start studying the CPA in Sep of 2012.

    5. Been studying non-stop, 20-30 hours a week since christmas 2012.

    6. Taking FAR first and have not taken a test yet.

My first FAR test will be FEB 23rd. I’ve been busting my ass studying for this thing, but I can’t seem to do better than 65 on comprehensive tests. I take them in sets of 30 after reviewing chapters (currently using Becker).

I don’t know what my problem is, but I can’t get out of the 60’s. Am I doomed to fail? DId anyone get 60’s on the MC and pass the exam? Did anyone get 60’s and fail? I have 11 days until test day and there is just so much damn information that this thing feels impossible. All I can do is just keep reviewing weak topics and do multiple choice non stop. If anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

@MCLKT- its hard to save when I spent $0

@k917 – stop comparing apples to oranges

    @Jeff- I don't disagree.

Man, I must have hit a nerve. I am being ganged up on by all the moderators right now!

Apples to oranges??? Right….. Cause they're so different.

Of course you hit a nerve – at least for me. You're telling half of us our degrees aren't as good.

Although I guess I did it right then – I took the “easy” way but still received a masters that appears no different than a live program on my transcripts. Score.

If you don't value your time, I have no time for you.

*I'm convinced the only reason I'm a mod is because I'm on this website all hours of the night, and day. So it helps Jeff out that I can delete spam and duplicate comments, lol. If I keep speaking my mind, my privileges will probably be revoked.

If you haven't read the book “Rework” then your MBA is incomplete 🙂

k917 – a nerve wasn't struck so much with me. I was actually trying to help Dirt out. Some people just don't get how their attitudes and condescending remarks can be harmful for their career. But some never learn.

I am going to answer your actual question, yes getting 60-70 you can pass, I am not using Becker this time around but it is doable, if you read some of the board post you will see that.

That said, I think you need to take a step back and think about why you are being ganged up on. IMO this board is about supporting each other, a lot of members here have been around a while they chat with each other and learn from one another. When you insult one of the members the other members who know this person take offense too. You may not understand that as it seems you may not fully understand how strong an online community can be since one of your first comments on this board insults online communities. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, that's the beauty of this world (once again IMO) however if you make a comment that is naive, and insults the community you are addressing you have to expect people to react strongly, and negatively to it.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Wondering how you define “ganged up on”? Nobody's called you a name (like you did to whoever edited the title of this thread). Somehow you feel that people shouldn't get worked up over your opinion, but you're getting worked up because three or four whole people have opinions that you disagree with?

Apparently you didn't get as much out of your discussions as you thought.

@Jeff- Dude you're cool, mostly because I am jealous of your idea (this website) and the work you have put into this website which I assume is now your lively hood and which i further assume you are only being friendly because you want me to purchase your notes and click your links (note I've already purchased FAR notes, so we can cut the pleasantries). But seriously, awesome website, I hope it works out for you.

This thread made me lol. I have nothing to add. That is all. Thank you.

I love the internet because you see how people think without the pleasantries and fluff. Some people are going to think an online MBA is subpar whether you hear it from them or not. It's not a big deal. You should be secure about your accomplishments and accept that online degrees have a certain stigma. I personally don't agree with the OP but I'm not about to start an auto-da-fe because he said something slightly controversial.
