Feeling overwhelmed

Bonds, leases, government accounting, I don’t understand any of this. I just don’t feel motivated for any of the FAR material cause it just doesn’t seem to click. I tried CPAexcel the first time, and that didn’t work. Second time I added Wiley Test Bank and wasn’t that much better. This time I am just starting fresh and just reading the entire Wiley textbook along with using Ninja Blitz and Wiley Test Bank, and the material just isn’t clicking. Any suggestions?

Roger CPA Review has some free Youtube videos, I believe some of them cover bonds or leases, his videos and cram course helped me pass, specifically helped me get through Bonds, Leases and Cash Flow.

You must have a decent foundation,so i will advice you to get Roger. Roger teaches you FAR and Audit like you were retarded,so he is great. The only problem I see with him in Audit is that he skips little details that Becker or Wiley do not skip. Since you already have a good base, his teachings will help you tremendously. For NFP and Gov, O would suggest Bisk hot spot videos. Look for them on ebay.

I swear you are reading my mind. I feel the exact same way about FAR. But I feel like I do know the basics but so much just doesn't click and I feel so unmotivated to try and learn what I don't really “get” unless I know the information is giving me what I need, I hate wasting my time.

Hehe, glad to know I'm not the only one.

Would you guys recommend the full course or just the cram, or are the Youtube videos enough of a supplement? Also, if I were to get it, is it better to watch all the lectures and then do MCQ, or follow Roger's plan and watch a topic lecture and then do MCQ for that topic?

And here's how I studied the other sections.

BEC: CPAexcel, Wiley Test Bank, Wiley book

    REG: Wiley book, Ninja MCQ

AUD: (yet to find out score) Wiley book, Ninja MCQ, Ninja Blitz

If I pass AUD, then I'm definitely still using Ninja MCQ and Ninja Blitz for the review phase, and just have to find out how to actually tackle this stuff.

My experience is just using Roger CPA cram course after I watched some Youtube videos that clicked! I (my company) purchased Becker, so I use that to take notes, I skip the videos and to do MCQ. I used Roger to help me on topics I was not absorbing from Becker like Bonds, Leases, Cash Flow and Menomonics for all topics.

Don't you have a limit of 2 views per lecture for the Roger online cram? I vaguely remember someone saying that somewhere on this forum.

Maybe so, I do remember a limit but every time I looked at the “counter” it was always set to 0 views….. which was odd. I bought it 9 days out from FAR and spent all of a weekend, like 12-15 hours both days writing the notes for the whole cram course. I did go back into the cram a few times, but after I did the notes I was pretty much done, meaning my scores on the Becker tests were where I wanted to be and I didn't worry about it anymore.
