I graduated school last May and decided to knock out as many segments of the CPA as I could this past summer. I only have the BEC segment left and I am sending my Resume around to acquaintances and hoping to have some interviews in the near future.

I was wondering what else I can be doing? (besides studying for BEC) How attractive to employers is passing parts of the CPA before even beginning work? Should I be mass e-mailing accounting firms with cover letters and resumes?

Just general advice would be nice!

    Thanks!

I would check with your accounting professors. They usually have a direct line to local CPA firms, and can give you a foot in the door.

Does your school provide any career support? Do firms recruit there? You should be going through recruiting right now with your school, if they allow alumni to do so (mine does, to an extent). Have you applied online to any firms (versus just sending a resume)? They do post their job openings, and even for on campus recruiting I had to still apply online to most of the firms. Those are some places to start.

    REG - 87 (Becker)
    AUD - 96 (Becker & Ninja MCQs)
FAR - 85 (Becker, Ninja MCQs, Audio and Blitz)
BEC - Last one! Waiting on score release 11/24!

Did you participate in campus recruiting during your last year in school?
