Is there a benefit to being in the first wave of scores in a given test period? I’ve heard people mention it in posts occasionally. I’m just curious.

The only benefit I see to be in the first wave is if you are planning on taking two in one testing window. Everyone has their own reasons for scheduling the way they do. Some like to take an exam on the last day of each testing window so if they fail they can take it again immediately at the beginning of the next testing window and still take another test at the end of the same window. I personally like to take my test as close to the end of a testing wave as I can so my wait for the score is shorter, but as to whether it's the first, second, or third wave doesn't really matter to me. I know the time between the end of the wave and when the score is released varies with each wave, but only by a day or two I think.

I did FAR the last day of a score release (4/19) and took AUD as close as possible to the last day of a score release (5/27) in the same window. I'm doing the same now with REG and BEC. I have REG 7/18 and will schedule BEC for the end of August. This timing works well for me. Presumably hard test where I have around 6-7 weeks to study and presumably easy test where I have 5-6 weeks to study.

    FAR: 4/19/2014 - 85!
    AUD: 5/27/2014 - 90!
    REG: 7/18/2014 - 81!
    BEC: 8/13/2014 - 84!
