Hey guys, just wanted to get some perspective on something. I was contacted by a recruiter from KPMG on Wednesday asking me for times that would work in the upcoming days for a phone interview and a new copy of my resume. I emailed her back saying the early part of this next week. I haven’t heard back and I would like some time to prepare for the interview. I’ve heard that Big 4 HR can sometimes take a while, but I was curious as to how long I should wait to follow up or if I should at all? I just don’t want to come off as pushy but am excited at the same time. Thanks

I'd say give it a week or so.

On one hand you don't want to come off as being too pushy but on the other hand it doesn't hurt to show a bit of enthusiasm. Give them a chance to go through your material and get back to you first. If after a week you haven't heard anything, it doesn't hurt to drop a polite and professional email asking about your status.

do not stress. i would CALL NOT EMAIL and simply ask if they received the resume, etc. just confirming and you are excited about moving forward.

that would be perfectly acceptable. they want people that want to be there.

Is that because emails are more easily skipped over?

    Hey Hunter32,

I also had a phone interview with someone at KPMG with initials LB in the beginning of the month. I sent her a thank you letter as well as a followup email a week after the phone interview, since at the end of the phone interview, she said I should be hearing back in approximately a week.

Have you had any luck yet?

Wait one week and call. Recruiters tend to be outgoing and they like to talk. It also shows you have communication skills. A lot of people in this world are incapable of effective communication and a disproportionate amount of them wind up in accounting.
