I love UWorld Roger CPA Review and have successfully passed 3 parts of the exam on my first try…I have no complaints on his teaching style and I am glad I chose rogers..

However, his mannerisms are extremely annoying to me for some reason. Like the way he snorts, drinks from a straw and swallows his saliva. Is it just me or does anybody else feel this way. Maybe its because ive been watching him for hours and eventually everybody’s mannerism gets to you after that much time. Idk

Haha I could see how that might bug you. I just find it refreshing because he's not acting like a robot.

Hey max, i also purchased Roger full course and do you think his TB is good enough to pass the exam? Need to purchase Ninja MCQ as supplementary material?

I sort of know what you mean. There have been a few moments where the thought of “I paid how much money for this course and you can't even take the time to edit that out?” has ran across my mind. I think he burped in one of the videos and I was sort of shocked.

Ah son, I think the test bank mainly just has questions from out of the textbook. I don't like the functionality of the Roger test bank, so I would personally go ahead and purchase either Wiley or Ninja test bank.

@BananaPancakes Thanks for the advise. Definitely buy Ninja MCQ (just waiting for discount like the flash card I bought a few days ago :P)

Ah Son, I believe the code “HiYa” always gets you 15% off.

And yeah, max, I agree with you about Roger being somewhat annoying. Sometimes I felt like the jokes he was making were more important than the material. However, being a Becker Alum also, he is less annoying than either Tim Gearty or Peter Olinto, and overall the experience was less painful.

I find his snorting a little annoying and that huge ridiculous fake grin he gives at the end of each video way over the top. The dude works though and I find his actual teaching style fantastic. MCQs to me were super easy compared to Wiley & NINJA. Would definitely not rely on them as a sole MCQ bank. I used the CRAM and did find the questions at the end of each chapter to be helpful in determining which parts need a second watching of the videos.

    @maxheadroom88

That is the very reason why I don't use Roger anymore and wasted around $1,500. His snorts, him trying to get every last drop in the empty mountain dew can, when he smacks his tongue in between every sentence. It was so bad I didn't know what he was saying half the time because I was so distracted by the sounds.

@CPA means Cant Pass Again: Thanks for the discount code!

@How many letters do you need. I also found the MCQ were extremely easy and I started to doubt the 88% pass rate. Maybe the 88% pass rate was the rate before they changed the TB from Wiley

I guess I'm one of the few people that actually doesn't mind his mannerisms. I actually prefer it in that he is less formal and less worried about appearances. However I find it a bit annoying when he sometimes signals to the cameraman to move the camera a centimeter when it was positioned fine to begin with.

Ah Son, when you start doing questions from WTB, you will see that Roger skips a lot of minor details. I wonder if one can pass the Audit exam just by following all his lectures and doing his TB. Im writing everything he explains as I think he is the best Audit professor I have ever encountered. Becker teaches you to memorize the Audit content with very little explanations for those of us who have never worked in Audit. Roger actually teaches you Audit like in a way that makes sense. My only problem with Roger is his TB, and the details he skipped on his lectures and book. Im 97% done,so i will skip Ch 9 (Info technology controls), and start reviewing tomorrow. Ch9 is only 3% of the course, and I have to start reviewing as soon as possible. My average is 77% with his TB and 70% with WTB, I might get Ninja MC this week.

@ah son I feel that rogers practice tests don't have that much variety of tbs questions. It's really a hit or miss as predicting a tbs questions is probably harder than predicting mcq's. As far as Rogers goes I feel that you probably don't have enough material to get the elijah watt sells award (meaning you probably won't get like a 98) but if you watch all the lectures, study and do a boatload of practice questions there should be no reason why you shouldn't pass (high 70's to low 90's). There were some questions on the exam of topics that I know rogers never covered on BEC…but they could've been pretested.

btw the smile he gives at the end of each video does make me feel awkward.

In light of the above said, has anybody successfully combine/supplemented Roger course with Gleim test bank/Gleim review system?

    Thanks!!

I wouldn't combine the two, probably overkill. I hear Gleim is thorough but Rog will you get you through, granted he does “cut the fat.” I use Roger, supplemented with NINJA MCQ and have made it 3 for 3 so far. To be fair, I have just squeaked by each time though.

Just get something you like and USE IT – that's the hardest part. If you study enough you'll pass with any set of materials I think.

Thank you Lion of the Rock,

I have not purchased Roger yet, just watched Roger's available lectures on your tube.., but since almost everyone admits (within this topic and others) that Roger TB is not full/sufficient, I figured that perhaps I would need to supplement it with the other course MSQ …

I was using Gleim demo and felt OK for the interface, type of questions, but the text in the Gleim book is quite dry…

Just wanted to say I personally think Roger does the best job out there teaching the concepts and going over the material needed to pass. Yes he has his mannerism's and does some quirky things like downing a shot of expresso followed by a sip of mountain dew, and he does give that smile at the end of the video, at the end of the day the dude knows his stuff, knows how to teach it, has lots of energy, and I like the fact he is being himself and not some cookie cutter corporate review course . With that said I totally am glad I choose Roger and am enjoying his style rather than try to make him be someone he aint.
