    Shipra,

U cannot get a CPA license from India. You have to come to US to give the exam plus you will have to get your transcripts / mark sheets evaluated. Plus most of the state board also ask for 1 year of work experience working under a CPA.

Only work around I can think for you will be to apply with Colorado state. If you have a masters degree in accounting from India you might be able to qualify to sit for exams. Colorado state board waives off the work experience requirement if you have more than 150 college credits. check out https://nasba.org/exams/cpaexam/ for more information.

You can use wes to get your transcripts evaluated. With Colorado another difficulty you can face is that they require you to study “Auditing” course which is based on US GAAS.

Finally, like I said before you will still have to come to US to give exams. International locations are only available to US citizens and citizens of those countries. I know all this cause I have faced similar problem. Only difference is that I am in US, so it was relatively easy for me to overcome these issues.

    FAR - 10/07/2013 - 90
    BEC - 12/02/2013 - 92
    AUD - 71 - Rematch 5/27/2014 (This time I will own you)
    REG - 04/28/2014

I strive for excellence not success, once you are knowledgeable and wise success will follow..

@OP, like Guru mentioned, the CPA designation is unique to the US.

Obtaining the necessary educational/working requirements and taking the exam in the US is the only method of getting licensed that I am aware of.
