So I am considering to go into public accounting… I just have a little private accounting experience, but before my current job I have some temp experience in private accounting too.

I am 35, and I am studying for the CPA exam, so I might be 37 by the time I pass it. Is it possible to be hired by a public accounting firm at my age?

I am aware of the long hours, and I am willing to put the work and time in, and I am fine with the fact that I will start out as a first-year accountant at a CPA firm. I just want to see if it is a reasonable possibility that someone my age can still get into public accounting. I plan to apply to small to medium sized firms in large cities and willing to relocate some distance from where I live, like 6 hours away by car. It seems that all CPA firms like hiring younger students. I just want to know the reality of applying to public accounting firms at my age, and what is the likelihood.
