Well that's ironic. I just finished chapter 1 in my Wiley AUD book, and as I was finishing up the last few pages of the chapter, I was so relieved that my next step was to rewrite the Ninja notes (which turned out to be more exciting than reading chapter 1).

After I was finished, I had a few beers while watching Ken Burn's documentary on Prohibition on PBS.

When I would check to see how many questions are assigned to the next topic, and if it were less than 50, I thought about all the free time I'd get.

When I would get so tired of watching the same face in a review program and would look forward to a different instructor.

When Saturday would roll around and it meant I could “sleep in” until 6:00 am because I had the rest of the day to study.

When no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't muster up the willpower to study while waiting on a pending score. I was sometimes relieved to get a score (pass or fail) just so I would move forward.

When I went to the planetarium with my kids and had to go outside so I could read my flashcards.

When I'd wear lycra and flip flops because I dressed to be comfortable for sitting long periods of time.

When working out became a luxury.

    I could go on….

Everytime I did something semi-dangerous (like roller derby or mountain biking) I would say “Well, at least if I get killed, I won't ever have to study for the CPA exam again.” Now that's sad.

Fairly often after I swear a whole bunch, my dog will come in and give me this pathetic face because I'm angry and she wants me to feel better. I think the whole studying for the exam thing is a lot harder on her than it is for me.

It's funny how I found this topic today, cause I think I hit rock bottom today…..I was at my cousin's funeral luncheon, when my 17 month old started to cry cause she was tired and I was trying anything to stop her (walked around, rocked her, etc) and nothing helped. Then I just broke down in tears as well. My cousins all know about everything I have on my plate right now, so they just pulled me aside and held me.

This exam is really a test of how strong you are.

When I was stuck in a doctor's waiting room and realized I had my BEC formula notecards in my briefcase, and caught myself thinking, “Oh wow, I am SO lucky.”

On a more serious note, when I went berserk in the Prometric waiting room slamming lockers and cursing because my screen went blank just as I was exiting the REG exam, and they didn't know if my exam had been submitted or not. The staff were hiding in their inner room. I went in and apologized to them profusely . . so embarassed, so not me.

I needed this post today! I am 3 weeks out from FAR (this is my first exam and I am probably completely “overdoing” it by some people's standards as far as studying goes) and I am freaking out. I have a 7 year old and an almost 4 year old and it is definitely hard to keep it all together when there's SO MUCH to do and remember, and I'm not talking about JUST for FAR I'm talking about “ok K needs to bring her helmet to school on Thursday for PE, Em needs to turn in her read alongs and bring snack on Wednesday…” etc…

But I am determined to pass this exam so … back to studying I go 🙂

Well, failed two exams this window. My hubby knows about one but not the other. He still hasn't asked. Soooooo, I haven't proffered the info. eeks.

So, the other night, my hubby asked me to watch tv with him. I told him that I couldn't because I had to study (again). Wow, the look of disappointment on his face said it all. I hate that this process has been so hard on my hubby and our marriage.

    @yankee –

I don't what you mean. The last couple of months have been really diffcult on us. We are just trying to push through this time. My husband really hates his job but right now he's the main supporter of our household. Once I pass these exams, then I will be and he can look for another job. With him working 2 hours away has just been adding to the strain. Cause he doesn't come home during the week.
