Hey all, has anyone ever shown up to Prometric a couple/few hours in advance of their exam in hopes of taking the test earlier? I tried calling my local Prometric, but it just goes to a voicemail. Thanks much!

I've gone to prometric about an hour and a half early before. They always been accommodating as long as they have room.

On the day of my FAR exam, they called me about 4 hours before my scheduled start time saying they had room so I went in just to get it over with. For AUD, I showed up about an hour early and they took me without any issues.

With that being said, individual results will vary. If they don't have any available computers and you show up early, there's nothing they can do to help you out.

I think it depends. For REG, I got there an hour and a half early and they were able to take me immediately. It was also a Tuesday night. I took BEC today. I was scheduled for 12:30. I got there at 11:45 and they didn't call me in until around 12:20. They told me Saturday's are always really busy.

I usually was 30 minutes or an hour early (not the 30 minutes they request – an additional 30-60 minutes), but for my last exam (REG) I called that morning and asked if they had space free for me to come early. The exam was scheduled for 6pm, much later than I preferred, so I called and they said I could come around 1. Then I had all manner of car problems, so it was after 6 before I got there, but that's another story. 😉 For what it's worth, that was a Saturday appointment, and the 1pm they said would work was basically as soon as I could get there, given the time I called and where I was coming from.

If your Prometric is far from home (mine was 1.5 hours) I'd be hesitant to go early without knowing if I could get in, but if it's not too far, then it'd be worth the drive to see if you could test early. Either way, you could always go to Starbucks or something for a bit while you wait if they say it'll be a couple hours till you can get in.

It was packed in there today. The proctor told me it's not worth coming super early on Saturdays at that location because they book all spaces from the AM so unless there are many cancellations you will not move up in time. My scheduled time was 5 but the actual start time was closer to 5:30 because of space problems. I walked in the door at a little after 4.
