lol thanks monikernc. I actually took it today. IDK why I was thinking it was tomorrow, but thankfully they send out the reminder emails.
Lets just say I'll be taking REG again in July. I think I legitimately guessed on a good 40% of the MCQ. Lots of concepts on there that Ninja MCQ didn't cover.

if you want things to change, you have to do something differentMay 14, 2016 at 3:59 pm #776434Biff-1955-TannenParticipantHonestly I think I'll just take a week or two, to brush up on REG using Ninja MCQ again. And heres why. When I said that it had concepts that ninja didn't cover, that was a bit misleading. I should have said it had a bunch of questions about minute details that you wouldn't think would have been tested, about concepts that ninja covered.
Since ninja covers the main concepts that you need to be aware of, and in my opinion its a crapshoot about how many bs minute questions you get, I think/hope I can get it next time.
The sims were a bit difficult since they were all computational for me (with exception of two research sims), but they weren't anything crazy. I was really hoping to have 1 or 2 sims with drop down menus lol.
The AL is trickier than David Bowies Labyrinth, so it wasn't very useful on the sims, but I actually feel very confident on my two research questions. Using advanced search with multiple keywords copied straight from the question is helpful.
What new stuff are you referring to? New content, or the DRS?

May 14, 2016 at 4:11 pm #776435monikerncParticipantthe exam updates after june to include changes effective 6 months prior – so things like the sect 179 extension made by congress dec 31 2015 will be included on next window's exam. i should have scheduled REG for 1st window 2016 so a retake would be in 2nd before the updates rolled in but i didn't know this at the time.
these exam scores are nuts. you have almost as good a chance of passing as failing and i think you probably passed. 2 research sims is a godsend – don't count yourself out yet but keep studying just to stay fresh. when does your score release?
enjoy your graduation and some time off. is it spring there yet? here it is practically summer.i said that about the research and yet i only want one because the AL is the labyrinth you described. and i just checked your release date. 11 days is not too bad but the wait till july is the killer. you will get this before you start your job. no worries, right?

if you want things to change, you have to do something differentMay 14, 2016 at 4:37 pm #776439Biff-1955-TannenParticipantI wish I could give you something to write down, but I didn't end up writing anything down on mine. I didn't do a practice exam either, I just did the sims and about 5,000 MCQ. The only thing I made a point to remember right before going in, was the phaseout %s and ranges for like 179, AMTI exemption, and rental loss. Wish I could tell you if remembering those was helpful or NOTTTT.

Biff you may be surprised. People who talk about long calculations or minutia in MCQ's usually seem to do a lot better than they thought.
May 14, 2016 at 8:53 pm #776444Biff-1955-TannenParticipantNo I used the on screen calculator. I'm actually a fan of it. I like it just because of the tape, so I can review my calculations.
@CPA2021 Yea idk, I was surprised by my first 3 scores, but at the same time I always felt confident in my MCQ. We'll find out in 10 days, but I'm not holding any hope at all.

Press enter – get double entry instead of total. That's why I wanted both tools at my disposal.Anyway, seriously those questions you struggled with are probably distoring your impression when it comes to sizing up how the test was. Your other scores and your study time in don't add up to surprise fail. Especially if you feel OK about the SIMS.
May 14, 2016 at 11:03 pm #776446monikerncParticipantby the time you throw out the pretests, which are almost 17% of the mcqs, and your odds of guessing right, you probably passed. but who the heck knows. hanging back and waiting to see is all you've got right now.
i am going with the handheld and using the tape if needed.
