I am just walking out of my supervisor’s office (VP of Finance)………I am now the Senior Financial Analyst and got $10K increase……… with more responsibilities as well, but they have been pushing me into those for the last few months (nothing new). The only one that I don’t fell prepare for is the “Supply Chain Management” now I have to manage the whole inventory.

I guess I have an excuse to celebrate 😉

@CannotPassAgain, if you ask me I would rather do accounting than financial analysis, but it seems that analysis gives more $$$ and a broader view of the business environment.

What I do? Lots of &*^%…….;)

Primarily, I spend 1/4 of the month preparing financial reports and analysis for the executive group and to our parent company in Japan (actual vs forecast & budget) …I also work with the sales team in compiling units sales forecast information to produce P&L's for the upcoming months.

I think it is good to work in accoutning first…A/P, A/R and G/L and then make the move to the financial analyst position. By then your will understand the source of each transaction and how they impact your financial statements.
