Got them Regulation blues

REG on Friday..last exam if I pass. I know individual, corp, and partnership taxation well, other areas are having me second-guess myself. Did 190 MCQs today covering all the material. Finished the day poorly and wound up with 77.5% for the day. Anyone else do this many MCQs a day? I’m drained (and feeling a little uneasy). I haven’t had to focus on SIMs. I figure if I know the concepts I’ll be able to get through them. Happy studying everyone.

REG is definitely an exam where you don't want to skimp on practicing sims. I would spend some time focusing on those.

I'll try my best…only have 3 days. Thanks for your advice, I'll start looking over the Sims. I passed the other 3 sections without practicing them, but I know it's a big point of emphasis on REG.

Cheer up.. it's your last one if you pass! You could be done forever! If you know tax sections well, then that is a huge part of being able to pass REG. Make sure you are learning from the MCQ as you go through. It's better to make mistakes now than on exam day.

I would look over the sims, but do not stress over them. They will come easy if you work in tax currently. However, you should get familiar with tax returns if you are not already.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

I don't work in tax currently. Last time I took REG I did horrible (sub-60), however I know the material so much better now. I just need to brush up on Property Transactions these last few days, as well as all the other material. Feeling good overall, but still a long ways to go. My AUD credit is riding on this exam. I worked too hard to pass that one to lose it!

I know what it feels like to lose a credit, but that is in the past. I have had the hardest time getting back on the study train to knock REG out AGAIN. It still makes me sick to my stomach from losing REG. Just make sure you review all the material, and then hit your weak areas hard. This is what has worked for me the past 2 exams:

Day 1: 20 MCQ sets on each section (Using WTB, I get my average score to 75% inculding all data.)

    Make note of weak topics.

Day 2: 20 MCQ on all questions missed at least 1 time

    Make note of weak topics.

Day 3: 20 MCQ on weak topics until score 85% or more on every set

Learn from each mistake and correct answer.

Test Day: 20 MCQ on all questions missed at least 2 times

Scoring less than 85% results in a quick refresh on topic

    Take the test around 12:30

I've done 400 questions in a day but I used to study at my job as a night time security guard
