Specifically pertaining to the Debt Service Funds, Capital Project Funds, and Special Revenue Funds how do you know which one to put debt proceeds in and special assessment income into? I’ve seen it all sorts of ways.

For instance, Wiley has one where debt proceeds go directly to the Capital Projects fund and the premium then is transferred to the Debt Services fund.

I get the other funds, but I’m struggling with what Revenue/Income goes to what fund…

P.S. I’ve read the Wiley and Becker book explanations, so please don’t just regurgitated those.

Debt proceeds will go into the Capital Projects Fund if the proceeds are for a capital project. It is the same principle of the Special Revenue Fund. The question has to tell you what the proceeds are for.
