Guessing score accurately?

Has anyone actually consistently guessed their score +/- 5 points. I have taken 9 exams and only once did I leave the test center and think I got a certain score and I was within five points of what I thought.

I hate that You never know. I sometimes laugh when I read a post from someone who got a 99 who thought they failed.

I guessed 80, I got an 81. Only reason I guessed that was because my first exam I got 76, second exam 82, third exam was 78, so 80 was the even number missing in the sequence

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

    @onmyway

All your scores are similar. Did you feel the same way walking out of the test center every time or was their one you walked out knowing you passed and one you thought you failed for sure.

In pretty sure my guesses went like this:

    REG – a lot less than 75

FAR – a lot lot less than 75

    AUD – 85ish

    BEC – 71 (I blame this site)

So AUD was the only one that falls in the 5 point range.

@ajmallie, yes and no. I bet you expected a simple answer.

Coming out of AUD I didn't know. It was my first one, and I haven't take an exam in years. I was pretty sure I knew a lot of the MCQ but the SIMS were completely foreign to me. I now know they were FAR sims. I knew the kinds of SIMS that could show up but I wasn't as prepared as I wanted. I knew I was borderline either way.

Coming out of REG I was split again. This time I had a decent amount of MCQ I was unsure about but I knew I got a lot of the SIMS right, so it was hard to tell. I think the SIMS really helped me on this one.

Coming out of FAR until the second I saw my score I thought I failed. Of course I knew there was a chance I beat the 75 line, but I wasn't expecting it. That one was a complete shock and still is.

BEC was tricky. I thought I did REALLY well as I left, but then I started remembering all the questions I was unsure about. Then I realized there were plenty of questions I may have thought I knew but I messed up (calculations, for example). I basically felt the same as AUD and REG.

FAR was really the one I came out feeling awful about, but looks like I studied just about enough for each one. A lot of dedication, a lot of sacrifices.

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

I predicted I would get in the low 80s with AUD and ended up with a 78. For FAR, I was expecting upper 60s and got a 72. I haven't been TOO far off the mark with my predictions.

I'm going to call it now – 82 for my FAR retake on Friday! *fingers crossed*

Jilly Beans, I see your 82 and raise you a 90 for yourself…good luck!!

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

I haven't been very consistent. I think my my post-test estimates went something like this:

    FAR 81

    AUD 85

    REG 91

Had really no idea on FAR since it was my first one. I felt like I probably passed but had no idea by how much. I guessed close on REG mainly because my past guesses ended up too low. My Sims on all three tests must have gone better than I thought they did. Too many variables exist I think to guess close every time.

    FAR - PASSED!! - 95
    AUD - PASSED!! - 98
    REG - PASSED!! - 93
    BEC - PASSED!! - 90

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

I had a dream the night before my FAR score that I got a 69…ended up with a 75.

    I had a dream a few nights ago that I got a 59 on AUD (my second test)…got a 60.

Apparently my dreams are more accurate than my feelings after the test, b/c after FAR I was sure I did <60 and after AUD I felt much better than FAR…maybe 75-80 range.

So yeah…if my dream score for BEC in April is close I'm going to be a little weirded out.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 79
    REG - 86
    DONE

    FAR - PASSED 11/14
    AUD - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    REG - First take 2/16

    @Lindsey

I feel the exact same way. On two of the three tests I passed I had a dream that I passed and I did. I just can't stand that no matter what I always walk out of the test feeling dumb. And the 1 time I felt great I got one of my worst scores. Just makes no sense.

My first test was AUD, and I figured that I either got a 74 or a 76. I was about 10 points off, so I gave up guessing after that.

I did have a dream that I got a 57 on BEC, which luckily was way off.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I walked out of FAR thinking I had failed. That was before I found this site and before I learning that the test was adaptive. I about fell out of my chair when I saw my score of an 88. I came out of Reg feeling pretty good, I was guessing in the 80's and came back with an 82. I could tell BEC was getting harder, so I knew that was a good sign, I guessed low 80's and got an 88. AUD was my biggest surprise. I didn't seem like the questions were getting any harder and I had the exact same question in T1 and T3, which I of course over analyzed as into meaning the test wasn't getting any harder. Turns out that was my highest score with a 94. The hard thing with guessing a score is that every question is weighted differently.

    FAR 7/8/14 - 88 - Becker live course
REG 10/14/14 - 82 - Becker live course, Ninja notes and audio
BEC 11/25/14 - 88 - Becker live course, Ninja audio, Wiley book for extra questions
AUD 2/3/15 - 94 - Becker self study, Ninja audio, Wiley book for extra questions

Audit scares me. I feel like I did really well on the first testlet but I felt like I knew nothing on the second testlet. Plus Audit I find the hardest to tell if its getting harder or not. What I noticed with the second testlet wasn't necessarily that the questions were hard but the answer choices were very tough to choose from. The first testlet the right answer stuck out and I could tell you why the other three were wrong. The second testlet the answers were just vague.

I walked out expecting a score in the low 60's. So I'm hoping for one of those pleasant surprises as explained above.

For FAR I was praying for a pass and I got one.

For AUD I knew I passed my second time through – I thought I did better than a 75 though..

I took REG first and thought for sure I had failed., I passed.

Took AUD next thought for sure I passed. I failed (with a 73)

Took BEC next and thought I failed. I passed.

ReTaking AUD tomorrow, hoping I feel like I failed!! lol
