Had KPMG, and More, interviews….experience + waiting game?

I had KPMG on campus. That was the only Big 4 (haven’t heard from PWC yet). Then I have been having an endless bunch of midsize firms interview me. After all these interviews, I haven’t heard anything yet. They range from today, all the way to about 2 weeks ago. Aaaaand, it’s not just me, everyone else hasn’t heard a thing yet either, whom I’ve spoken to. Should I worry, or is just par for the coarse? (I’m worried anyway)

Btw the KPMG interview, in particular, was tough. The interviewer at first seemed to love me, saying multiple times “when you work here” “when you get an offer”, etc, but somewhere near the end, he just started nitpicking me to death instead, which hurts my confidence, because I don’t know what the guy’s thinking. Anyone dealt with this before? Is it just tough love, or a pre-emptive heads up that I’m not good enough?

Stop over thinking it, otherwise it will stress you out.

During my time at the Big 4, I conducted on campus interviews and 2nd round office interviews all the time (very large cities on the west and east coast). Those phrases used by the interviewer are standard and you should not try to derive any hidden meaning from them.

Unfortunately, if you haven't already heard from them that means you are either second tier (offer provided only if first tier candidates turn down their offers) or you were rejected. We usually called the candidates within 2 or 3 days to let them know an offer was coming their way if they were our top choice.

However, it is entirely possible HR is just moving slowly.

It was only a first round. But the person I interviewed with said that offers will be given in about 3 weeks.

I had an experienced staff interview with kpmg and they took 3 weeks to get back to me. Another big 4 took 8 days and when kpmg asked why I turned them down it was for that reason.
