Took BEC & FAR in February now on to Aud & Reg. So I am half way through studying for Audit and I feel COMPLETELY Burned out. I work full time (private) and some evenings I do not want to study, I just go straight to bed. I spent 1 week on a unit by really pushing myself. (I usually can get through 2 – 3 units during the week). But now its like I do not want to hear about “reasonable assurance” or “RMM” anymore, I get it, I get it! I just need to breathe.

I haven’t looked at Reg as yet & I’m wondering will I feel the same way once I begin..

What’s your motivation to get focused and keep pushing when the finish line is so close but feels so far away?

You sound like me and we even received similar scores on BEC/FAR. Except I threw $200 away on my attempt at AUD. Don't let your money go to waste too.

AUD seems like the biggest drag of a section since I am never going to work in the field of auditing. My biggest motivation is to not fail it again so I can just wipe it from my memory and move on to more important stuff in REG. (I won't work in tax either but at least the material will help me with my own taxes)

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)

Having 2 done is the hardest point! It feels like more of an uphill battle than having 0 or 1 done. Much more pressure.

I would think of it as you're over halfway done! I had that issue after I took AUD, I just wanted to breathe for a bit. But these tests are like a marathon, so give yourself a break every now and then.

For me, the best way to stay motivated was to have a goal. I had a daily goal of what I wanted to accomplish in addition to a weekly goal.

It gives you something to obtain and small victories along the way.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98

Burned out too! I remember day 1 of studying for this nightmare February 2, 2015. I'm glad to be halfway done but I really wish I was able to knock our Reg in January and just focus on FAR. Especially with the exam changes happening and with my most recent FAR experience, I felt like they are already here. I'm 99% sure I failed FAR miserably and I am questioning how I can pass it next time. I know this is a marathon not a sprint but I so wish I was DONE so I can move on with my life.

Thanks guys for your responses! Sometimes you forget that you're not the only one going through this.

@ockCpa2015, having small goals is a good idea.

I do agree that is a bit more pressure having some exams completed, I just want it to be over but I know I have to pace myself & not become overwhelmed. I need my life back!!!!

Wow kflacity. I don't know how you were able to knock out two exams in one day. I applaud you for that. I am studying for BEC right now and it's only been a week but the first chapter has really taken a toll on me. What is your studying strategy? I wanted to take BEC in June but I feel that it isn't enough time so I am waiting to schedule it for July. What course are you using to study? I'm using Becker and it's lectures are really good but just so long.

@perezc3910, if only the same day, I took FAR on the 20th & BEC 22nd. I originally wanted to take both in Jan but felt underprepared so I pushed them back.

I used gleim primarily for both of them. I read the chapters and made personal notes for my understanding. After that I did mcq and practiced sims until I was sick of them. I re-read my notes if I kept scoring below 75 on certain topics & practiced more questions & only did questions for the topics I was familiar with. (re-reading any material I was comfortable with was a waste of time).

Totally understand the feeling, you and I are doing the same thing but the opposite way.

Dreading the next 3 weeks of my life, but at the same time, will be glad to get it out of the way. If I fail one (or both) I'll have to wait until my last window to resit them as I have to fly back to the USA to sit them. Ugh!
