I’m retaking FAR and trying to remember all the areas that really killed me. Anyone have any input on what really tripped you up on the exam that would be important to review? Your input is appreciated!

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 77
    REG - 75
    So glad to be done!

take a look at your score release, it should have the below average, average, above average for your test versus others who passed in that window.

unfortunately, as you know….when you pass they dont tell you your weak areas…but given you have 3 of 4 down I am sure you can knock this one out!

My advice though is to study like you have never seen the material before.

    Good Luck!

    BEC-75!
    AUD-84!
    REG-78!
    FAR-83!
    Ethics-Passed!
    Experience-Got that too

Agree with @jsmithsae in the fact you need to study it all. If you just study “weaker” areas then they will become stronger and your previously “stronger” areas will become weaker because you're out of practice in them! Even if it feels dumb to review the easy stuff you gotta do it. And keep doing multiple choose questions over and over and over! Also ninja notes are what helped me pass 🙂 good luck!

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)

Honestly, even if the score report is very vague, it is still very helpful and accurate with your performance. Go back to the front page of your far Becker book and take a look at th subjects you were weak in and concentrate a little more on that until you feel more confident. But that doesn't mean you can neglect the other sections. I notice that writing flash cards is the simplest and most efficient way to keep the things you're good at fresh in your head.

Go over your advanced accounting textbook. Without divulging anything, I was surprised on the amount of material that came from what would traditionally be covered in an Advanced Accounting course (at least on my exam). If you hit the “difficult” testlets, I think it would be beneficial to go over some of this stuff.

I took a look at the areas I was “weaker” in on my score report and one of them was “specific transactions”. Not even sure what they're referring to…

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 77
    REG - 75

I would say matching revenue and expenses = specific transactions (if your using Becker that's F2 and some of the random F10 topics). Its definitely my weaker area, also.
