    NINJA Question –

I’m trending close to 100% in Framework, NFP, and governmental. Around 60% in the other two for FAR. Has anyone had similar scores and passed?

Don't worry about your scores so long as you learned why the answer was wrong. If you're confident you know what you did wrong on the questions, you won't make the mistake on the exam.

I saw your other post from yesterday. That's great you're doing so well in those other sections and I was in a similar situation as you on my first go around with FAR (Really high % in Framework and NFP) and I failed with a 71. Remember financial statements and financial transactions have a bigger weight in the exam so you really need to bring up those percentages. You have time so just keep working MCQs and work corresponding journal entries. If I were you I'd take these sections and break them up since there is so much covered in them. For example, only work on 10-20 MCQs on bonds or leases or cash flows, etc. Before that, generate a detail of your results so you can see specifically where you are weakest in so you work those MCQs the most. Really take time to understand why you are getting the answer wrong and keep practicing your weak areas. Good luck!

    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

Agreed. I recognize that I will have to really bear down and get the other two sections right. I do sort of what you suggested. I make sure I do all of the questions at least once (“Questions seen” to 0), then I go through and do “Questions missed last time” until I get every one right. Odds are I'll do a few more than once and really understand them.

@Dantrick This information usually comes with your CPA review material but can be also found on the AICPA website.

Here's the CSO (Content Specific Outline) for 2015 for all 4 exams.

At the end of the day you really need to study everything but it's useful to know what has more weight so you know what to focus more on, especially if the sections with more weight are your weak areas.

Oh when you said bigger weight I thought you meant that a question with financial statements for example is worth 2 points as opposed to another question that might be worth 1 point. I was thinking how in the world did I not know how many points or weight a specific item is given. I was thinking cuz people say their testlets get harder, that some questions must be given more points if they are harder. I did know about the % of topics in each category. Thanks.
