Hi everyone!

I’ve read that BEC scores that are “borderline passing” have their writing section reviewed by human graders. The first time I took BEC a few months ago, my score was released in the “subsequent release” and I received a painful 72. I took it for the second time last month and SHOULD have received my score last week on November 21st, but didn’t. I am assuming I’m in the second wave of scores again. Do I have any hope of passing this? I have my REG retake in a few days and I was REALLY hoping to know going in to it that I had passed BEC.

Is there is anyone out there who passed BEC when they were part of the subsequent score release? Or, does anyone know what the chances of passing could be? Thank you.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Everyone in the 2nd release of BEC scores fails. Nobody has ever passed in the 2nd release.

That's a very valid question if you ask me. I was in the first wave last time and passed, my friend was in the second wave and failed.

It seems like a valid concern.

YES…I passed BEC in a late score release….you are borderline, but not everyone fails.

Yeah, I just don't get it. Seriously, common sense people. You really think it would be possible that everyone in the 2nd release would fail? Borderline? Maybe. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see some people post passing scores in the 80s. To suggest, or even wonder, if everyone (seriously, every single person?) in the 2nd release would fail seems foolish.

@Minimorty – Hmmm, wasn't suggesting that no one passed in the second release… was just curious if there were people here who have passed in this situation, or if it is going to be very unlikely. I know it doesn't have any bearing on how I actually did on the test, but figured I'd ask… lol. I apologize if my question seemed “foolish” to you. 😉

Swan, just as an FYI, mini is the furthest thing from a troll and happens to be a moderator. He has many encouraging words of wisdom as a matter of fact. Happens to be a bit on the sarcastic side, but it goes without saying that if one can survive the entire CPA exam process a little dry humor is a drop in the bucket.
