I think it's possible depending on the chapters. Some parts of FAR you may naturally know because they're engraved, however if it's items you've never gone over and can't remember going over in college, i'd at least get a basic understanding of them. It all depends on what questions you get asked on the test, because all of it isn't going to get tested. I highly encourage going over non profit and government accounting because most people say part of the reason they failed FAR is because they didn't expect to be tested so much on those two topics.

Maybe if it's chapters like Ratios and Personal Income. But for Roger, the final chapters are NFP, Government, and Business Combinations, which are ABSOLUTELY essential.

Yea I've already taken. I was curious whether anyone ever found themselves in that situation, where they didnt finish all of the chapters and passed.

I passed and I skipped over basically the entire section on pensions. I used cpaexcel.

I skipped almost all of F10 and passed. Luckily, I didn't get too many questions from it.

The last time I took FAR 60% of the exam was Gov, NFP and IFRS including a simulation on Gov and one on NFP.

I skipped the sections on AROs, Derivatives/Hedging, and foreign currency. I got one question on ARO. And a sim on foreign currency.

I freaked on the sim when I saw it and left it for last since I knew nothing about it. With about 10 minutes left, I somehow managed to complete the answers and finish it.

This becomes a bit of a tradeoff decision – Time vs Points. You can devote the time to study every little subject. Or you can tradeoff that and lose a point/question on the exam. When you're cutting it real close at the end before your test, you kinda have to cut your losses.

    @Gian:

Did you find the IFRS type questions to be real tricky, or basic in nature?

What do they call an accounting person, who only managed a 75 on all four parts of the CPA exam....you got it, CPA!!!

    BEC (2/28/16) ----- 78
    FAR (09/10/16)-----

I took a real gamble with FAR. I only had 2 weeks to study (had to travel end of may and window was going to close) but felt pretty good about Financial Accounting. I watched most of the becker videos w/o taking notes and then did around 20 Hours on Ninja MCQ

I thought I was in big trouble due to number of questions on exam from a topic I didnt cover well, but I made it through okay.

So yes, you “can” do it, but it is not really recommended.

I knew I wasn't going to finish the material so I covered Gov/NFP (good call btw), and didn't cover derivatives/hedging, nbd.

To be honest, if you have time cover it, if not, do what you can.

I've been reading a lot of these threads and people seem to say that you can skip chapter 10 and still do fine. Good thing I didn't listen to their advice because I had at least 4-5 MC on chapter ten, a sim on non profit, and a sim on interest swaps. Also gov and non profit were heavily tested on my exam. At least 30-35% of my exam.

    FAR - TBD
    REG - 90 Q4 2014
    AUD - 95 Q4 2014
    BEC - TBD Q1 2015
