Has anyone seen a practice SIM on exam day?

    I failed FAR with a 71 and, per my score report, it’s because I bombed the sims.

    Accordingly, I’m changing my study plan this time and adding more sims. I’m curious — has anyone actually seen a sim on FAR that’s similar or identical to what they’ve seen while studying? I studies the sims for AUD and there was nothing even remotely close to them on my exam.

    Just trying to figure out if it’s worth practicing sims.

    Yes. I saw Sims on exams that were in the review course, or at least very close to the ones in the review courses. Study the Sims just like you study the MCQ's. Learn how to use the AL because you can use it to complete the Sims. If you are really lucky, you will get a Sim that is straight out of an Illustrative Guide.

    I've yet to practice a single SIM and clearly won't because w/ BEC there are none.

    Yes, I have seen the same sims a few times. On Audit I had two exact sims from the review course and I was kicking myself for not taking a look at one of them a bit longer.

    The SIMS on BEC are called essays. They too should be practiced.

    Practicing SIMS probably adds 10-20 points to your score.

    I think they're called WCs (written communications) but also can be referred to as SIMs I guess.

    Also, 10 – 20 points? That's a pretty fast estimate on wherever you came up with that number. Cool story bro.

    I'll throw in my $0.02. I never practiced SIMS other than to become familiar with the AL.

    @M.O.D – I'm sure it doesn't hurt, but I went 4/4 without.
