Have been trying to find entry level auditing position in small-medium sized firms, but got nothing. I have very limited accounting experiences, such as general ledger, bookkeeping for less than a year. I have accounting degree and have passed all the exams, and I really want to find a serious position which can help me to build my career in the public accounting field. Would anyone works in the firm please tell me how to become one of the CPAs? I appreciate all the replays. Thank you!

Well I'll be a little bit of a jerk here. Step 1) Replies is spelled with an ie not a Y; spelling matters, if your resume or cover letter has typos that could be sinking you right out of the gate. Step 2) What have you been doing to try to get a job? Looking online? Have you been going to networking events? Have you tried to work any connections you might have at those firms? Have you gone through your college recruitment process or used their referral network? Have you just been looking or have you been applying? In order to tell you what else to try we'd need some idea of what you've already tried…

    Your problem is very common.

Most accounting students who want to work in public accounting will not get their wish. This is particularly true in my market. Hiring is not the greatest (although better than it has been recently) AND the market is flooded with qualified candidates.

Passing all the exams is not a golden ticket.

Generally the best/easiest (although not the only) way to get into public accounting is through on-campus recruiting.

IMO: Most generic advice you find online for getting a job is also applicable in public accounting. For getting an interview, your resume, cover letter, and networking skills are the most important.
