That was my experience for all three testlets even though I used becker and wiley.

I guessed way more than I knew 🙁 I studied

Most of the materials tested were familiar, but extremely advance… wow.. just wow

I feel horrible. I would feel better if this worked for others..

    Please share your thoughts….

    A - 2/2/15 - 76: PASSED
    B - 7/20/15 - 74, 73
    R - 7/24/15 - patiently waiting for 8/25 score release
    F - sometime in October

So to answer your question (and you probably have already guessed it) I have NEVER passed a section of CPA exam when I guessed majority of the exam questions. In fact, I have FAILED to pass EVERY time I guessed 40% of the time.

It is alsoe my experience that when I study (half-ass) and take the exam and had to guess 40% of the questions my score will be in the 60 ish range.

    I hope this helps,

    Bee

I had a similar BEC experience. A lot of the questions were familiar but extremely advanced, nothing like i had seen in my studies. I passed with a 78!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

I guessed a lot. Not half but enough to make me nervous. Got a 79! Don't lose hope.

I still remember, in my first testlet, I flagged about 5, and for the two testlets that follow, I flagged more than 10 on each of them, and still passed. Good luck!

I didn't think it was bad with Becker material. I took mine 2 days ago but what my problem was that I reviewed the hard stuff but not the easy stuff and when the exam came I started second guessing certain formulas. When I walked out I thought I failed it big time but idk, u just never know until u get ur score. On AICPA site, there scoring is weighted by difficulty of the problem so certain questions are worth more than others. So u never know. I will let u know what I got once I get my score back.

    BEC: 82
    FAR: 80
    REG: 81
AUD: Last exam, end of may 2016.

Key to passing the exam is understanding the topic chapter and sections, not just memorizing what you read. The more you practice multiple choice, the greater chance you have to passing the exam.

I took the exam today and had the same exact experience as you =/. I really don't think I passed but I guess we'll find out for sure in 10 days.

Hoping you get some good news!

@berrygoose how come you were able to take the same test in same window after failing the one? I think the process is if we fail 1 test in 1 window we can not take the same test in that particular window we have to take in next window…

Is there any changes in the rules and I am not aware 🙁

Between BEC test was really really bad…someone on this blog wrote earlier that its witch with a capital B totally relate to it…

    10th come soonn…

    CA Candidate
    FAR: You are down...
    Aud: Surprised me...Thanks
    BEC: 75% work done
    REG: It's 80 but I am 100% done 🙂
