Haven't Felt Confident Once Yet

I’m about halfway through going through the FAR material for the second time, and it seems like no matter how much I study I don’t feel like I’m where I need to be. Is this a fairly common thing?

I’ve read on the forum that the Becker MCQ’s tend to be of the harder variety in comparison to the ones that have been seen on the exam before, but I’m just trying to get a feel for if I really need to switch up my intensity.

Could being fresh out of school be a disadvantage here? I think I am comparing my preparedness to a masters level test in school where I need to get a 90 or above, so FAR is hard to gauge. This will be my first section to sit for, so maybe I’m just getting anxious unnecessarily. Any input?? Thanks guys and good luck to you

The only thing that increasing your “study intensity” can do is help your towards passing the test. No negatives about studying harder.

Yeah I guess I just don't know what else to do. I probably put in a solid 6 hours a day and after that my brain is pretty fried. Just trying to figure out if this is a normal feeling this far into it.

FAR is really overwhelming. Just keep at it and it will start to feel better. But I don't think anyone walks into that test feeling 100% confident.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

i think you need to take a practice exam or look at the AICPA released questions because they are more accurate to what you see on the exam. tbh what's in the review materials are the much, much harder questions

@nicole2035 – I would love to do that, but the sample questions require you to have a Windows computer for some reason. Pretty frustrating.

Make sure you are taking enough breaks. Study for 3 hours a time max, take a long break (1-2 hrs) and then do your other 3 hrs. Your 3 hr study session should also have some tiny breaks so you don't lose focus.

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! šŸ˜€

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently šŸ™‚

It's normal. I don't feel comfortable with material until almost a week or less before exam day. Sometimes things just click.

One thing you will learn quick is no, the CPA is not like studying for college. I studied FAR like a college exam – lots of cramming and skipping material… I failed twice (70 & 71). šŸ™

    Passed all sections.
