I have been studying for the past 2.5 months and feel like I have retained NOTHING!! I was looking to take my test in July, but I don’t see that happening. I work three jobs (i’m insane) and have about 8-10 hours a week to study. I don’t mind it taking me 3-4 more to pass a part, but I need to make sure I am retaining the information. I used Roger CPA for the first two months, but I feel like I wasted my time on the lectures. I am using Ninja MCQ now and I am learning a lot more. I think my problem is that I am skipping around to much and not focusing on one topic at a time. Can someone please give me some advice?! I feel like at this rate – I will NEVER pass. I am studying for REG. Thank you!!

If it helps at all, I had a full time job (50 hrs/wk), plus a p/t job (8 hours/week), was taking 2 classes per semester for my masters (online), had 2 kids (11 and `17), was a girl scout leader and cheer coach, and managed to get this done.

My advice, 8-10 hours a week will not cut it, maybe take time off from one of your jobs or find a way to get at LEAST 20 hours a week in. If I could find that time, so can you. Get audio even if you can listen at work, on your commute, whille doing housework, or going to bed. Use your break time at work. Might mean less sleep for a while but not forever (if I got 5 hours a night, it was a good night. You'll be amazed how quickly your body will adapt. For a year or less, it won't harm you unless you allow yourself to dwell on it.)

For the MCQs, I would pick a section and finish it. While it wasn't necessarily realistic (test-taking), it did help to reinforce the topic. So basically, I would focus 4-6 hrs straight on one time. The risk here is doing it a few weeks before the big test and forgetting everything, so definitely review before the final day.
