   I need help getting into an accounting firm. I have applied to all the big firms and no response at all.

   I know I am not a kid coming right out of undergraduate, but I have good work experience at large companies and I have passed REG and just took BEC 2 days ago.

   Can anyone provide any assistance or give some advice on how to go about getting into a good firm??

   The only way to get into Big 4 if you're not coming through on-campus recruiting, is through a referral from someone who works at the firm currently. Generally, its easier to get into a local firm than Big 4 if you're not coming through on-campus recruiting. Good luck!

   i am in california...

   the unfortunate part is that i am family friends with a senior partner of E&Y and he will not do anything to get me in front of anyone.

   what is the best way to find mid sized local firms and to get in front of them?

   show up to the office with your CPA exam papers w/ credit

   like most small biz, they arent hiring.
