Thanks for reading. I was hoping to get your advice on my current situation.
Situation:
-I was offered a full-time job w/a big 4 recently.
-I defaulted on my fed student loans 4-5 years ago. (I was out of the country for 2 years so I did not get any correspondences)
-After I came back to the states and found out about my defaulted loans, I paid off the entire balance within a month of finding out. It was paid off 2-3 years ago.
-I haven’t had any blemishes on my credit since then.
Will my background prevent me from getting the job when the firm does a background check on me? I don’t have any criminal records and my resume is accurate but I am really freaking out about my credit. Btw, the firm is in Virginia.
I know it was a stupid mistake and I am losing sleep over it now. But it is what it is…any of you guys have similar experiences? If so, what happened? Any other advice?
Thank you.
