When referring to the BEC exam, what do you say? B.E.C.? Business environments and concepts? Bec (the same sound as if you are saying a nick name for Becker)?

When I am networking, I am concerned that I sound uneducated. I’m taking BEC next month, and when I mention that when chatting at networking events, sometimes I say “business environments and concepts,” sometimes I say “B.E.C.” What do you say? If you work in public, what do your coworkers say (I’d like to adopt the common wordage as ppl who work in public.) Thanks!

I've heard people call it “beck” and B.E.C, doesn't stick out either way to me personally.

    Just pronounce the letters.

    “I'm taking BEC (bee-eee-see)”

Then soon you will say: “I just passed (Bee-eee-see)!”

I've never heard anybody pronounce it any other way.

    Good luck.

Well that last post was kind of awkward to read, and seemed uncalled for.
    1) You don't know what his screen name means, or the reason behind it. It's not like it's some childish profanity filled name. There is a good chance that his last name is Trip or something.
    2) It's a screen name. Why would anybody judge somebody's intelligence on a screen name? Especially when that screen name is on a forum for taking the CPA exam? Obviously they're somewhat intelligent if they're taking the CPA exam.
    3) Obviously he forgot the “n” in pronounce. Big deal. Nobody likes the grammar police. He's not writing a professional memo.

    Deleted.

I apologize if it didn't give the warm and fuzzies. He seems concerned about how he appears. I was trying to help.

    Thanks for your feedback.

Ouch. Sounds like I missed out on some cyber bullying. Too bad I didn't log in sooner, to read the comments. Biff, thanks for having my back.
