I am writing this post because I want to hear from all the Ninjas out there who are still grinding in the face of failure. I am seriously ready to quit testing due to all the negativity that comes with preparing for months & weeks to take these exams, waiting for months and weeks for your score, and then getting a failing score that’s 1-2 pts away from passing.

I started my exam journey in 2013 after completing 21 additional hours of accounting, business, and ethics courses to be eligible to sit for the exam in the state of TX. I had some luck early on in that I was able to win study materials from Yeager CPA. Originally I was supposed to FAR in July but wrestled with what was the best study method for me and rescheduled for Oct 2013. Must to my dismay I scored a 60, but was encouraged because it was 15 pts from passing. Then from May 2014- May 2015 I used a combination Yeager and Ninja materials for FAR retakes and to start AUD. I scored between 62-70 on my exams.

I then decided to go to a live Becker review course taught by the best accounting instructor in the DFW area. I decided to stick with trying to pass FAR and AUD. After weeks upon weeks of classes, homework, and the final review for each section, I received scores of 73 for both exams.

I decided to retest AUD again in April 2016. I am very anxious waiting for the scores to be released, but I am not staying up till 2am when there released. I want to be positive but I feel like the AICPA is going to screw me again. I keep thinking they will give me either a 72 or 74 since they gave me 2 73’s last time.

Anyway, I could say whoa is me all night long because this has been so effn frustrating and depressing. I would love to hear from those of you out there that I have had some failure, but are up to the challenge of testing until you pass.

Anxiety might be taking over, just wait for the score, you might have passed and if you didn't what's wrong with trying again. Sometimes, we have to change our method of study, time (after work instead of before). materials ( read the book instead of listening to the lectures), reading note cards before bed…..well you get what I'm saying. a few points indicate that you are not far so maybe do more sims to nail down concepts instead of mcq's only, or lectures only. I've been trying for at least 3 years, I thought I would be finished by now, but I had to realistically accept that I was not studying but rather going through the motions, failing under pressure then rescheduling until I lost the nerves to even go to the test sight (wasted money). I failed Reg (2) and Far (2) I want to be a cpa so bad, so I did the re-evaluating, changed my study habits, stop working on other people schedules of when they think I should pass, and am bearing down to get it done. Yes you can . I know this process can be rather expensive, and failure can be discouraging, but it will be worth it when you pass, and you will pass…..DON'T GIVE UP…A71 is here with you.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

you just need to know that pretty much everybody struggles with these tests.

Utilize your score reports. brush up on everything for retakes but focus on those areas that you were weaker in.

Figure out what study methods work for you and keeps you from falling asleep. It's tough to stay motivated but just know that if you give it everything you've got this time then chances are you won't have to study for the same section again.

Be confident in yourself and your abilities. Accounting is not easy in college. If you've made it this far, with the right amount of effort and persistence, you can and will be a licensed cpa.

I started off with Audit, passed on my third try. Then moved on to BEC, passed on my second try. Now FAR, studying for my second attempt….

Just keep on keepin on, stay focused and don't let your procrastination get out of hand. If you get those thoughts of rescheduling, push them out of your head and tell yourself enough is enough, get this done already, Study with all you've got and get that 75.

    AUD - 78
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 78
    REG - 90

Here, Wanna B, take my hand. Hold it tight. We're going to get through this together 🙂

We're on the path, the sky is brightening, there is light. The light of hope and of dreams fulfilled. Yes, we are battle-weary, we are mentally fragile, and others think we are beyond crazy for hitting our heads against the wall.

We may be crazy, but we are also strong and with our combined strength we shall overcome our demons. In the end, it is a test. A test of endurance. A test of will. The AICPA considers taking it over 40 times to be excessive. I have a good feeling we will pass before that time comes.

Kumbaya (swaying and holding my candle)

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 80
    REG - 80
    3 years

    + 16 tests

    + 2 expired sections

    = DONE FOREVER!

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...
